WARNING - This is a little long but well worth your time, it could save you thousands of dollars.

Upon searching for a mortgage lead service on the Internet I ran across Global Inet. I believe the company was called "Drasticroi" when I found them... turns out they have about a dozen different names (that should have been a tip off, huh?). I was contacted by a sales associate name AMY SOUZA. She promised me the following:

-leads that have a 100% contact rate

-Exclusive leads (not sold to anyone else)

-Phone verified leads (more on this...)

They also have a good looking and user-friendly website (turns out they used to be a web-design company). I had a couple questions concerning lead generation, I asked HOW ARE LEADS GENERATED? and what does she mean by "Phone verified"? I explicitly told her I was not interested in any leads from pop-up ads of banner-ads she EMPHATICALLY told me that was not the case, her response was

1. When clients go to a search engine and type in a mortgage related word they are sent to a variety of websites such as: getamortgage.cc, mortgageinfo.cc, findamortgage.cc, eliterefinance.com. They fill out an application, its "verified" by one of their people and the lead is posted on the website for download.

2. Phone Verified means that an actual person from Global Inet calls the lead to verify the information provided and tell them to expect a phone call from a loan officer... (she even provided me with a script that they allegedly use)

This sounds great so far, huh?

They asked for a $2160 check for 90 leads (45 purchased and 45 bonuses"). They said they would even send an overnight service to pick up the check. I thought it was odd that they were so anxious to pick up the check, but I proceeded and had our accounting department send a check (I still haven't forgiven myself), they activated my account and we were ready to go... WHAT I ACTUALLY RECIEVED WAS IN STARK CONTRAST TO WHAT I WAS TOLD BY AMY SOUZA

After downloading just 21 of 90 leads I found that none of them met the criteria Amy Souza had led me to believe. This is a list of my issues; at least 1 issue applies to every lead I have downloaded,

-A half dozen people told me they were just trying to win a Publishers Clearing House Prize on a POP-UP AD!!!

-Phone Numbers were not operational

-The people at the numbers listed had never heard of the contact person on the lead

-Not a single lead was verified by a live person.

-Every lead contacted indicated they had received anywhere from 4 to 70 (SEVENTY!!!) phone calls since filling out 1 bit of information on the internet.

Some of the people on the leads were kind enough to send me e-mails and letters describing their plight.

I called customer service to request a refund and spoke to Carlos who refused to do anything, he even told me that he "has no manager or boss" I can speak to. I asked who he reports to and he said, the owner Steve Blisko... he refused to connect Mr. Blisko, or even put in his voicemail... He just referred me to their legal department.

I e-mailed their legal department to request a refund and they refused. All they did was tell me to return the lead and get a new one... They even had the nerve to imply that the people I spoke to on the leads were lying to me about what happened. While I don't mind returning a lead or two here and there I CAN'T SPEND MY DAY RETURNING EVERY LEAD I DOWNLOAD.

I've worked with Internet leads for the last 4 years and these are BY FAR THE WORSE I'VE EVER SEEN. The legal department plays games with semantics and uses every loophole they can fit through. Its dirty... very, very, dirty.

I'm lucky; these leads are just a small supplement to my business, so I don't rely on them to make money. But for anyone who works at a lead based company STAY AWAY FROM GLOBAL INET, you will not eat if this is your lead source.

GLOBAL INET are disingenuous, lying, uncompromising scammers. Once they have your check they don't care about you. They don't stand by their product, because they know it's a bait and switch

As of right now we have no refund from Global Inet, but the issue is in the process of being reviewed by our legal department. Because I work at a very large bank this may take longer than I'd like... But I'm confident that we will continue to pursue a full refund until we receive it.

It you want proof about the poor quality of this company just look at the amount of complaints they have for being such a small, local company. I filed a FTC complaint (apparently MANY other people have as awell) and I will personally continue to pursue exposing this company for what they are as much as my scheudle allows me.

Stay away.

Furthermore the 18 leads that were credited to the other client were credited in accordance with his package terms and conditions. He was a packaqe "b" client which affords him the right to return leads that he cannot contact. The crediting of those 18 leads validates that we stand behind our agreement.

Global Inet's leads are bogus BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION

I thought it was worth noting that in another compliant dated 06/26/2005 (coincidentally, written by another guy named Drew) Global Inet responded to the complaint by claiming that "1) He downloaded 31 total leads. 2) He returned 18 and all were credited." This is Global Inet's own words. From 31 purchased leads over half of them were returnable under their own guidelines. How could this possibly be construed as a legitimate product? I called Global Inet to ask them why so many of their leads were returneable and Carlos said "It was a glitch in the system that they were trying to correct". Apparently this "glitch" has been going on for years. Steve Blisko is a coward. He doesn't stand by his product, he cares nothing about customer service and he won't even call his unhappy customers. Perhaps its becuase he'd have to spend his entire day calling customer after customer. Lying, Coward. Lets just hope he isn't reproducing.
