Global Trust Financial Services Maureen Noel Said I won $150,000! St. Johns, NF A1A 1B2 , New Foundland
I received a check today for $4,420.00 from this company and a letter saying that I had won $150,000 in a contest that I entered by going to a local store.
I called the phone number on the letter and asked for Maureen Noel. A man said he was Maureen and that I should deposit the check tomorrow and call back as soon as I had it in the bank.
The check was supposed to be used for the payment of taxes but it was for more money than the taxes were for. The letter said the taxes would be $3980.00.
I wondered why they would send a check for more than the amount of the taxes.
I then looked this company up on the computer and found out about the scam.
I really feel bad for all the people out of work who will unwittingly send them the difference in the check amount and the tax amount only to discover the check was no good.
