Missed applied payments to accounts. Credited one account with entire check. Mortgage payment was to be divided between three accounts.

Mortgage payment forwarded to the Auto Department. I never had an auto loan with GMAC. Error not corrected for one year.

Changed date on mortgage payment check. GMAC changed the date on my check. Three checks were sent in the same envelope and they changed the date on one check and charged me late fees.

Changed account numbers on mortgage payment checks. Three checks had different accounts numbers and they changed the account number one check and credited the money to that account number. They did this on two seperate checks.

I just receivied a letter from the corporation confirming the removal of the errors from my credit report. The corporation did indeed remove one account from my credit report. I had to contact the corporation again to have them complete the removal of all of the accounts. I am now waiting the 45 days needed to have this process completed. My suggestion, write the CEO of GMAC in your location. I must say, this does work. I can now move on with my refinancing of the properties that GMAC is holding. This 20 months have been the worst for me. But I can now move on. I have not decided yet what I should do about GMAC putting me through all of this worry. But to say to me only, (we are sorry) is not quite enough to justify the time and engery that I have had to indure for these months. Please continue to fight for your rights as a consumer. Keep focused and continue to pressure companies that don't do the right thing.

GMAC did correct parts of my credit report. They removed one account and added additional late payments to the account they did not remove from my credit report. One account (the account they removed had seven late payments) and the other account had two late payments. They added three late payments to that account and listed a ($106.00) late due. I was never told about a late due. I have written to the foreclosure agent to let him know how up-set I am, and that they better get back to the three credit companies and correct the whole credit report. I will be writing the CEO another letter in the near future. When I first wrote the CEO I told him to go to the ripoff site and examine the reports. He never got back to me but he did have a representative call me. As I previously stated, things began to happen and fast. I am in the process of paying off the three properties that GMAC has in their hands. I have asked them to send me current monthly statements many times. They have not sent them to me yet. I have not had a statement for any of the accounts for 19 months. I can't imagine how or what they will say to the courts when asked why they never sent me current monthly statements. I will ask the CEO to send them to me immediately when I write him. I am still interested in participating in a class action suit. Everyone keep the faith. Something has to happen to a company like GMAC who continues to hurt the consumer.

I have ripoff reports about GMAC you can read. My nightmare continues. I got a money order for $1000 and added a check(check 143) for $193.79 the difference to equal the amount due GMAC for July. Several days later I was overdrawn by almost $900! Turns out a check #143 for $1193.79 was presented by GMAC. I thought I had made a huge mistake.I knew my life was about to turn up-side-down. I was lucky because the bank stopped check 143. I immediately sent a letter to GMAC with check 145 in the correct amount. I sent by Express Mail.Arrived on August 3 at GMAC. I incurred overdrafts for items that were paid; my balance was finally correct at $200.00 and I went food shopping. Yesterday, August 7, I was overdrawn by $141.44. Today I learned GMAC put Check 143 again, knowing it had been stopped. This time the check was for $193.79, the amount I wrote thecheckfor and not $1193.79. The bank is looking into what happened but they think someone added an extra 1 to the amount part of the check. I incurred overdraft fees, stop payment fees which amounted to over $100.00. I am just thankful the bank is working with me and today, after crying like a baby, they are going to try and help me with a reverse mortgage which I am now old enough to have. I don't know if anyone can do anything about GMAC if they did change the check by adding a "1" - how can I prove it?

mabel you say you contacted the dept of financial reg in md. ok so whats the phone number and or address for this gov office. reason being i have filed a complaint in florida with them many yrs back and dillly squat was done. so what did you say to them to get them to jump. each time i call or write them for info on whats being done they tell me they have the complaint on file and are working on it. i have filed so many complaints with these so called gov offices that are supposed to help and nothing is ever done. so please pass the info on.

Last week GMAC contacted me to state that they did indeed create the errors that have taken place for 17 months. But they are trying to somewhat connect my husband. We are in the process of a divorce and he pays mortgage payments for our marital home to GMAC. They told me that for some reason my husband sent them an incorrect monthly statement. The statement was an account that I have been responsible to pay for the last four years. It must be stated, I have not received a monthly statement for the three accounts that I manage for 14 months. I ask the foreclosre agent, (How did my husband get a statement for the accounts that I have been managing for the last four years?) He could not answer that question. That is a question that I need an answer to. The agent stated that my husband's account is now in question because they (GMAC) has misapplied some of my husbands monthly payments to my accounts and that two to four payments of my monthly payments had been applied to my husbands account. So you can see GMAC has really done poor bookkeeping with my accounts. They have acknowledge this. I again ask for the letter from GMAC stating that they have cleaned up my credit. I have been told that I should receive this letter within the next business week. We will see. After writing the CEO of GMAC I have found that things have been getting done. It was requested from a concern individual of this web site that I give out names and numbers of individuals that I have been dealing with in GMAC. At this time I will not give out that information. Please understand, I will explain why at a later date. I will keep you updated.

Hi folks, This company is truly evil - they claimed that they never received my mortgage payment. I gave them all the info that they needed to track the payment and they never followed up - then turned around and tried to forclose. Let me tell you that I have never been late for a payment in my life. I know they never figured that a single mom without a college degree would ever challenge them but boy did I prove them wrong! The best thing to do is simply contact your state representatives - I live in Maryland and contacted our state department of financial regulation. You have never seen a company jump so fast in your life - I guess there is nothing like having the government breathe down your neck!! They suddenly had the whole mess wrapped up in two days and I had a letter of appology in hand in less than a week. Again - if you are looking for help, CONTACT YOUR STATE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL REGULATION - they can keep records of complaints and believe me, they know how to get the job done!! Update: GMAC continues to request the front/back of checks dating from the beginning up to the present date. GMAC has stated that they would incurr the cost for the coping of the checks. They have removed my account from the hands of their attorney and have removed the information from my credit report. I have informed the agent that I need this in writing. I wrote a letter to the CEO of GMAC. After writing the letter to the CEO I have been given a foreclosure agent. He has been calling me in a timely manner to let me know where he is at on my case. I know longer receive the constance phone messages from GMAC's collecting department. The agent continues to tell me that he is trying very hard to locate and corrrect the errors. He requested that I forward to him the three checks that had been returned to me. He requested that I mail them express mail. I wrote him a letter and sent him the receipt for the cost of express mail and requested that GMAC reimburse me for the cost. GMAC has stated that they would indeed reimburse me the cost for the postage. I have sent copies of the checks that had account numbers and date changed. The agent assured me that the money was now in the correct accounts. The agent stated that he had documented the checks in question. I told the CEO that GMAC would be held responsibile for everyday that I am unable to process my financial business. I received a letter from another respresentative in corp. that stated that from my letter to the CEO she would now be available to me. So, as you can see the ball is rolling. But this has been 17 months. I have let everyone know what my future intent is. Someone must pay for this nightmare. Is there anyone out there that might want to file with me? Please reply soon. You are officially on GMAC's mortgage "Merry-Go -Round", hold on to your seat because you are about to be taken for the ride of your life. If you think you are having problems with this company, you ain't seen nothing yet. GMAC is making what appears to be unintentional clerical accounting mistakes. If you believe that I've got a good deal on a bridge in Brooklyn. This company is setting you up so that in the very near future it will be able to default you on your loan. From their risk profiling information they have already determined that it is unlikely you have the knowledge, sophistication, legal resources, and time to pull the brake on the GMAC mortgage "Merry-Go -Round." Chances are they have already reported you late to the credit reporting agencies. GMAC does this to prevent you from being able to refinance your loans. Their next step will most likely be to notify you that you are deliquent on your loans. While you are busy on the phone trying to get your account corrected, Gmac will be busy telling you that they are checking their records. GMAC probably is checking it records, not to correct their "errors", but, to see how much longer they have to string you along before they can start foreclosure proceedings. File a lawsuit against GMAC either in state or federal court. I strongly recommend that you see an attorney at once! What Gmac is doing is illegal and unless you file a complaint against them for mortgage servicing fraud they will continue to victimize you. Good Luck and God Bless,
