GMAC Mortgage ripoff, refinancing nightmare Lynnwood Iowa
Our refinancing nightmare began with an agent telling us how it would take two weeks, we have good credit and the interest rates were at an all time low, we had payed two years with prompt on time payments and had never attempted to refinance until that time. Four months later and weeks of stress and running around and the agent dodging our phone calls,(my husband had to pose as someone else from an undisclosed number to catch the guy on the phone!) we finally went in to sign, whereupon the agent to our surprise, was standing outside of the office with an assistant to tell my husband and I that we would be placed in a new contract program with them called "timely rewards program" because I am a self employed person! We were not to recieve the point interest drop for twenty four months!
So our loan increased with thier refinancing fees and the hokey appraisal etc etc...but the best part is yet to come. I have always paid them two weeks early, well they started attempting to withdraw our mortgage payments even earlier for two months now to intentionally screw up our credit and "timely payments"
What a disaster!
My bank has incurred one hundred dollars so far in fees as a result of these people and we have a feeling this is just the beginning! When we call, GMAC specifies that this isn't thier problem...
