GN Auto Sales in Chantilly, Va does not stand behind their product, packs high fees in their finance contracts and sells cars that should have never passed state inspection.

My young son recently purchased a car from these shisters. It was his first car buying experience and was proud he completed the transaction himself. Boy did they rake him over the coals...

+   24% interest rate (he has perfect credit)

+   processing fee of $299

+  GAP Insurance fee of $395 (car was insured the second he drove off, why would he need this?)

+   Extended Warranty fee of $400 (void from the start because car had performance parts installed)

+   They used a car for trade in that my son was not on title (we were ok signing title over, but they did the deal unauthorized)

Stanley is a nice guy on the phone but never returns phone calls or does as agreed.

The car died the 2nd day he had it so we took it to the local garage. Clogged catalytic converter, check engine light with numerous codes, rear brakes need replacing, car overheats.

The mechanic said it should have never passed state inspection.

When I mentioned this to Stanley he said, "you know Maryland inspections are more stringent than Virginia's".... well, I am pretty sure brakes are an important part of Virginia inspections.

- because of the cars multiple issues, I told Stanley (sales guy) they would not get my title and I wanted the deal void. After several efforts of trying to talk me out of it, Stanley knew there was no deal and told me to bring the car back. Well, the car can't make it out of my driveway....

It has been over a week now of call after call and the car that will not run is still sitting in my driveway despite promises from Stanley that they will send a tow truck. They still have my car and refuse to let me pick it up until they get their car back. Because I never agreed to the deal (car title was in my name) it is legally my car!!! Stanley keeps telling me, let me get with my boss and arrange to have it towed back and will call me back later. He never calls back! As of today, Stanley tells me he is sending a tow truck to pick up the piece of junk in my driveway... after a week of my phone calls and GN Auto's broken promises.

When I mentioned that I was going to write complaints on the internet, he said "go ahead".

BEWARE!!!!! - these guys are crooks and will tell you anything to keep you happy.

Why did you let your son buy the car?

You are the parent and one of our jobs is to make sure that our children learn the in's and out's of financing before they leave home. You know what the tricks are for these type of dealerships - you listed a bunch of them in your complaint.

24% interest

Processing Fee

GAP insurance

Extended warranty

Accepting a trade in on a vehicle that you son didn't/doesn't own.

Now that your son has signed the contract you have a slim chance of unwinding the deal. But if you can, then go there and do it today. Time is of the essence. Otherwise your son will end up with a repo on credit. It doesn't matter that the shady car dealer conned him into signing a bad deal. These types of dealers make more money off the repo's and subsequent deficiency judgment than they make off the car itself.

This is the time to step up and show your son what to do when you make a huge mistake like he did. Don't let him get his credit trashed because of these dealership scams. Then once you get it fixed, show him the right way to buy. Have him research the dealership scams online so he knows what to do. Have him get his financing at a credit union. He needs to stay away from Buy Here Pay Here lots entirely.

You seem to be saying no matter what has happened, your son was nothing more than an innocent victum.  From the questions you ask, it seems like you don't know the basics either.  If the terms of the deal are NOT ACCEPTABLE, then you get up and walk out.  Nobody forced him to accept this deal.  The PHONEY FEE you mentioned is one of the very common con-games used in the car business.  Again, you don't need to play doormat and simply agree to it!  They are crossing their fingers hoping you will.  The PHONEY FEE con game goes like this:  They advertise or say the price of the car is $x but thats a bold faced lie.  The price of the car is the "x" PLUS the PHONEY FEE.  How can you trust somebody like that?  GAP insurance is NOT a legal requirement and is NOT a requirement to get financed.  GAP insurance is NOT the same as "comprehensive".  So, Stanley is a nice guy?  Of course he's going to seem like a "nice" guy.  He's trying to win your confidence while LYING TO YOU and loading up the purchase with extra iems including the PHONEY FEE.  Stanley is nothing more than a typical sleazy participant in the Sleazy American Car Business.
