Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
you've ever thought of buying a domain name to start your business or just have your own site with pictures of your vacation on it, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH GODADDY.COM. You may ask me why? Very good question.
-
I recently transfered about 20 domains over to Godaddy.com from a more expensive registrar. about 3/4's are just names, no working sites just yet. The rest are working sites and 3 of them rank on page 1 of Google.
-
As with any registrar, there's a terms of use box you need to check to either register and/or buy a domain or a service. The typical terms of use is a mile long document in language only lawyers could understand. And I'll bet, you like me have just clicked the box and moved on to pay. Well guess what? If you do business with Godaddy.com, they've got you by the B@LLS be it your credit card, debit card or PayPal. They can charge you for any bogus reason and take your money.
-
Understand tht Godaddy.com is a massive registrar offering web services and has DANICA PATRICK as a 'Godaddy Girl'. I've been with other registrars and never have been erroniously charged for something. So, Godaddy.com big, me small. Godaddy.com has lots of money, me I pinch pennies.
-
I've been with Godaddy.com for over a year and although the web interface is like a day at the stock market, I got a good rate on domain name registration. So awhile back, I get this strange email from Godaddy.com support saying 'test, please disregard'. Now that was strange. It was like something was up and they were just seeing if the email I had on file worked. Remember that. The email on file.
-
Then a few days later, I get notification from PayPal that $9.95 has been taken out of my account for a Godaddy.com purchase. That didn't seem too odd. I buy domains often. I check it out and find an email from them stating that my contact information is NOT up to date and I need to verify it. The email further stated that they were charging me an admin fee of $9.95.
-
My contact info was up to date. Was it a spammer or scammer who complained. Or even moreso, was it my competition? Most likely. Only someone with a vested interest in destroying my 3 websites (they were specifically named) would complain. All my other non-working websites were not implicated.
-
So I call Godaddy.com customer support and the guy there tells me that when they send out an email like this, someone complains about a website's contact info and so they investigate. I asked him what does the investigation entail. He said, WE SEND AN EMAIL TO YOUR LISTED ADDRESS TO SEE IF IT BOUNCES. One email. $9.95? NOW YOU KNOW HOW THEY'RE SCAMMING YOU! I asked him again and he confirmed they ONLY send an email to your listed email address. If it comes back bounced, they do more. If not, then they do nothing....BUT TAKE $9.95 FROM YOUR POCKET.
-
So, somebody out there, most likely my competition bogusly complained about my Google page 1 websites and Godaddy.com send 1 email and charges me $9.95 for it. DO YOU NOW SEE HOW THEY STEAL YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY by hiding 'charges' in their terms of use. Of course, I've received other 'check your registration info' emails from past registrars, but never did they charge me for it.
-
I had my PayPal account on file to buy domains with. GODADDY TOOK THE MONEY RIGHT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT and never told me beforehand they were doing this. They just took it and then emailed me about what they did. IS ONE EMAIL WORTH $9.95? Not by a long shot.
-
SO BUYER BEWARE OF GODADDY.COM. I can't say what else they will try to charge me or you for, but if you have anything on file, GODADDY.COM WILL TRY TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT and state you agreed to it in the terms of use.
-
Needless to say, I'm transfering my domains over to Name.com, which seems a much more reputable registrar. I would advise you to do it also, before 'someone complains' about your registration info and you get charged for it. I have started a PayPal dispute over the $9.95 but before I did that, I moved all my important domains to Names.com. No doubt Godaddy.com will 'freeze' my account for non-payment until it gets resolved. I just left throw away domains there in case they became real @sses about it. GODADDY.COM CAN'T BE TRUSTED.
-
Imagine, if Godaddy.con did this to 100 customers per day x 30 days, they'd rake in about $30,000 per month. GODADDY.COM IS ABLE TO RIPOFF CUSTOMERS to the tune of $360.000 per year!
I'm sure you can see THIS IS AN INCOME STREAM FOR GODADDY.COM. And do you think they care or will refund my $9.95? Not a chance. Like I said in the beginning, Godaddy.com big. Me, small. Godaddy.com, lots of money. Me, pinch pennies.
-
THERE'S NO FIGHING A GIANT LIKE GODADDY.COM - BOYCOTT THEM INSTEAD. Stick with a reputable registrar and not one that uses Terms of Use as a catch all to take your money without cause!
Stay away from Godaddy.com. If you have any services with them, leave as soon as you can. They WILL find ways to charge you and your form of registered payment for whatever reason they can. Far from reputable, GODADD.COM HAS MASSIVE COMPLAINTS ON RIPOFFREPORT.COM. So go figure. Bob Parsons didn't get rich by being nice. He got there by taking people's money when he shouldn't have. Bad on you Bob Parsons. Your Karma will catch up with you either in this world or the next.

You were not ripped off, you were foolish and irresponsible.

As with any registrar, there's a terms of use box you need to check to either register and/or buy a domain or a service.

You checked a box agreeing to be billed, and completely ignored what you were agreeing too, so now you want too whine that you've been victimized because you cannot act like a responsible adult and Read the terms of service to which you are agreeing.

The typical terms of use is a mile long document in language only lawyers could understand. And I'll bet, you like me have just clicked the box and moved on to pay.

Never, when it comes to things that cost money... ever.

DO YOU NOW SEE HOW THEY STEAL YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY by hiding 'charges' in their terms of use.

The charges we not hidden, YOU did not read them.

GODADDY TOOK THE MONEY RIGHT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT and never told me beforehand they were doing this.

Yes they did tell you, but again you did not read.

I could go on but it's plain that people like you are the reason it is so hard too run a business of any kind, you should be embarrassed and ashamed by your behavior, but instead you want to come here and cry like A baby when you involved yourself in a Business transaction, and then accept no responsibility for not knowing what you were getting into when you were given every opportunity to know what would happen.

If you have ever attended any college i would write a ripoff report on them, they are the real ones that took money from you, and obviously never taught you how too read.
