Complaint Review: Gohar Pogosian - Van Nuys California

Pogosian has bragged many times about ripping-off many people, especially young designers!  If you have been scammed, ripped-off or have had property stolen by her, please respond and list details here  so other people can be warned.

GOHAR POGOSIAN:  Continued list of her scams, illegals and unethical practices.

Previous business names used:  Agape Fashion Services, Broadway St, Los Angeles.  Pogosian ran a garment contracting shop where she did not have all of the licenses needed including worker's comp and CA garment manufacturing license.  Admitted hiring illegal labor.  Ran a cash-only business.  Also sending mail to Bijan Jewelry Store, 13756 Victory Blvd, Van Nuys 91401 (address used for court documents in order not to reveal her real home address with over $50K of sewing equipment).

Also had a business named:  AGA Couture.  Email is [email protected] and the business phone is 818-245-0379.  Ran this business at several locations including at 15807 Leadwell St., Van Nuys 91406. Did not have ANY proper licenses--I fell for her excuses initially. Bragged about extorting 'thousands' of dollars a year from new designers, like me (including $5000 from a young designer who had to borrow the money from her Father to get her garments out of Pogosian's home in 2012--Pogosian admitted this to me while trying to extort thousands from me in 2012).

While I was contracting patternmaking and samplemaking services with her (see previous Ripoff Report for a list of grievances), Pogosian has admitted to me personally:  1.  Only files taxes on the 1099s received (she complained because I filed a 1099) and did not pay local/state/federal taxes on any other income.  2.  Bragged that she made about $100,000 a year (not paying taxes on all of it).  3.  Bragged that she used illegal labor to cheat on her costs (found out after I had paid tens of thousands $ and began trying to get everything of mine out of her possession).  4.  Brought $40,000 diamond ring for her daughter-in-law and gave her son $50,000 to "find a bride" in Algeria.  5.  Gave thousands in cash to tele-evangelists (including one $3000 gift in my presence).  6.  Bragged how she has over $1.5 MILLION in a secret bank account.  Yet, she claims to be poor to get her way--she is very convincing.  She is only about 54, yet she looks and acts much older.

Also, Pogosian has recently filed for bankruptcy and has claimed that she only has $50K in assets.  I can testify that she bought her home for $550K and now is trying to sell it quickly and has not listed it on the bankruptcy assets.  Pogosian has over $50K of commercial sewing equipment in her home, the proceeds from selling her home and has her $1.5 MILLION bank account that she is hiding from the bankruptcy court (FRAUD!)

SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF FRUSTRATION AND MONEY:  DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GOHAR POGOSIAN!
