Goldline International Locked into buying coins I didn't really want! Santa Monica California

OK I was repeatedly contacted by a Goldline rep "Al Cortina" with a high pressure sales pitch. I know I should have just said no thank you and left it at that. I got talked into aggreeing to purchase $4000 worth of silver peace dollars and actually went through the process of confirming the transaction. I didn't actually realize this was a binding contract between me and Goldline nor was it explained as such, I thought it was just a formality.

In the next few days I decided I didn't actually want these coins and sent a check to them for $5000 with the intent to purchase silver bullion coins instead. I called "Al Cortina" and told him my intentions. He seemed a little upset but said he would take care of it.

To my surprise he took care of himself instead since there is more commision on the peace dollar silver coins than the silver bullion coins, he pushed the peace dollars through instead of the silver bullion I desired and he never contacted me. So I contacted him and he told me of what he did. They don't record these conversations so I had no proof he told me he would take care of my change of mind to silver bullion.

To make a long story short I made my way all the way up to the Vice President of Goldline told him my story and he brought in Al Cortina and asked him his side of the story in a conference call. Well good old Al denied ever talking to me about changing my order or saying that he would take care of it. I requested my funds be given back and to purchase the $5000 of silver bullion but that was denied, they said the transaction had already been processed and that made it final. I was conmpensated with 13 extra peace dollars in an attemp to satisfy me which it didn't I took them because that was their final offer.

I say to you don't agree to anything you don't really want from these people, their slaes personel are there to make maximum profit from you and satisfaction is not guaranteed. I will never do business with these people again!

update on investment

Well it's been ten months now and it appears that I was wrong in my thinking. (again) The numismatic coins that I thought were not worth my investment actually have gained 60% in value. While the bullion silver I wanted has lost 19%. At this time I actually wish I had purchased all the Peace Dollars instead of the bullion, as Al Cortina had advised me to do. I could sell them now and make a profit, but I think I will hold on to them. Besides the great gains in value, they can not be confiscated unlike the bullion. I can't retract my original complaint all I can do is update it. If I could delete my post I would. I plan on contacting Ripoff Report to make a request to have my posts against Goldline deleted. The people there are actually pretty nice where as I can be a true a*s at times. The executive V.P. Robert Fazio has actually called on several occasions to address my concerns and I do appreciate him taking time to do so. I actually still do business with Goldline and plan to continue to do so in the future. Please disregard the original posts as there were made in the heat of the moments. I do recommend doing business with Goldline they are a class act.

Lied about the value of these coins...

OK here's the update to my dealings with Goldine Int. 1/9/2008 "Al Cortina" who lied when he told me he would take care of the coins I didn't want and get me the silver bullion instead, but in the end just pushed the junk silver coin deal through...Also told me that the "BREAK EVEN POINT" to sell these coins back to Goldline was silver at $15 dollars an ounce! Well today silver hit $16.26 an ounce, so I called Goldline and asked if I could sell these coins back and I was told that they were only offering $13.38 a coin and as I paid $16.00 each that is far from break even!!!! Just another LIE that "Al Cortina" told me I guess. The sales personnel at Goldline will tell you anything just to get your money!!! I suggest don't have anything to do with this band of thieves!!! They are used car salesmen that were offered jobs at Goldline because they had no problem selling wrecked cars to little old ladies on fixed income and laughing about it over beers with their fellow sales personnel... May God strike me and my children dead if I have lied about one single fact here
