Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This is a GROUP of Gold's Gyms owned by the same investors. I had a very similar experience as the one reported 12/6/2004 about the Gold's location on Busbee Parkway.

After joining Gold's I decided to take advantage of their offer to work out one day free with one of the trainers. The "trainer" turned out to be a sales rep in disguise who apparently did not know what he was doing since my knee was injured during the session. I did not work out again for 2-4 weeks after this "great" opportunity to work with a "trainer."

A few months later, I moved more tha 50 miles from the area served by this group of Gold's gyms. I did not call right away to cancel. When I did, I was referred to ABC Financial. I was told that I would have to pay $75.00 to cancel my membership even though I was unable to use it. When I objected, the person I spoke to suggested that I suggest elect not to renew since my membership would be up in July (or August - I forget which).

It wasn't good enough for me to tell her that during our telephone conversation, however, She demanded a FAX (which I sent) informing ABC financial that I did not wish to "automatically renew" my membership -- a feature I was never told existed as part of the "agreement." By the way; I was also not told about the $75.00 cancelation fee.

Even after informing them by telephone and following with a FAX, they are STILL -- nearly a year later, billing my credit card. I have called my credit card company and ask them to disallow the charges, but they tell me that since I have an "existing" relationship with Gold's/ABC, they can continue to charge my account -- forever, apparently, unless I close my account. I have now written a letter to The Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs in Georgia. We'll see what happens next.
