After being a loyal customer for over 2 years Gold's Gym has decided to take advantage of the legal system and extort me out of $500+ all because one of THEIR associates didn't know what she was saying or doing! All I wanted to do was temporarily suspend or freeze my account and I let an associate know this when I spoke with her inside the S Stephanie location (Henderson, NV). She told me it would be fine. I walked out with no paperwork because none was offered to me. Little did I know that the young girl didn't know the protocol of her own job! She should've given me paperwork to sign but because I've never worked there I didn't know any better. Fast forward a month and a half later and I'm still getting billed!

I called membership services NUMEROUS times and left NUMEROUS messages due to the initial reps not being able to help me and transfering me to other people. Do you think anyone called me back!?? Finally, in April (almost TWO months later) I got someone to call me back, claiming she would help me get this resolved... only she never called back. I called her number twice and left messages. I found out on the third attempt that her voicemail had changed and it was a man's voice now on that extension (I left a message anyway but do you think he returned my call?). I then thought that reaching out to the general manager Christopher Wagner would do some good. I see how and why his associates are so incompetent! I had to explain myself via email THREE different times what the issue was.

I guess he doesn't look at his email/paper "trail"! Can somebody tell me how a grown man has to be explained something so many times, and via EMAIL at that!? Needless to say it was a waste of energy because he was absolutely NO HELP WHATSOEVER and I am astonished that someone who can't even read has his job title. But I guess that's Gold's Gym for you. Meanwhile, I have been working with their corporate to try and get this resolved but without the cooperation of the location facility their corporate is not able to make much progress either. Though Chris told me that there's nothing the locations can do, corporate told me that the locations are the ONLY ONES that can make any adjustments. O_O 

I said all that to say this: BEWARE. They are very eager to get you in the door and signed up without telling you their guidelines and P&Ps, expecting YOU to figure it out on your own. They snatch your hard-earned money quicker than you can actually make it and won't blink twice about it. They are a business that is out only to make money and contrary to what they may tell you in their "spiel" to get your John Hancock they do NOT care about you as a person, as a member, as a consumer! Do yourself a favor and try another gym like 24 Hour Fitness or Las Vegas Athletic Club. I'm sure either can't be worse than Gold's Gym.
