Goleta Motors Goleta Motors Uhaul Knowingly sold dysfunctional car which broke within 5 minutes of purchase Goleta, California
Do business with Goleta Motors if you want a reasonable reliability that you will be lied to, and sold a misrepresented vehicle.
Goleta Motors is run by an Iranian who goes by 3 aliases, and signs paperwork as a 4th identity. He has different phones and answers as different persons depending on the business venture. His Uhaul alias is one of such aliases.
The alias I had the misfortune to deal with was named "Jay". He sold me a 1994 Murcury Sable with 120k miles on it, June of 2009. The vehicle worked fine for 5 minutes, but as soon as the transmission fluid heated up, it stoped moving. I called him up to tell him of my predicament (being stuck on the freeway overpass near his dealership). He told me to "wait until the transmission fluid cools for about 20 minutes, then it should move". I waited for 20 minutes and it moved once again, just like he claimed.
It doesn't take a genius to realize that he had previous experience in handling this particular car's defect; THEREFORE, sold me the car knowing I was to get stranded.
He was quite hostile in resolution of the ordeal, and only offered a minimal refund of 1/3 of what I had paid. He said all sales are final! When I left his dealership he was smiling in self satisfaction.
... well Jay, it seems you got me there! Not nice doing business with you. After being out a substantial amount of money, I took the bus home, deeply shaken by the lack of respect Jay holds for his victims/clientele.
