An female with a very thick Indian accent called from the Government Grant Processing Center and said that the Government had approved me for a $8000 grant, for a one time fee of $257. I was asked for confirmation of my bank name, account #, and street address.

I didn't feel anything was wrong, since I had applied for money for school earlier this year. I was told that I would be recieving a package in the mail 7-10 days after that from UPS or National Carrier.

They gave me my verification ID number, and then given a customer service # which I have since found to not be completed as dialed from any phone. I called back today, and I still couldn't get through. I'm going to contact my police department first thing later on today. I'm getting in contact with my bank first thing Monday to see about getting this taken care of as soon as possible.

At first it sounded good. BUT as all things free, there is a price. The attitude is what really got me. What was scary, they had my mailing and shipping address and phone #. I told the individual that I had found some negative info on the internet and he just was rude. It sounded like a female, but identified himself as John Williams. How a person that is from the middle east has a name of John Williams is beyond me. I am new to the USA and I don't see how they get this info so quickly. What I did is turn my computer on and type in the information of the organization name. This provided me with this website, which I think is a excellent tool to check for the great opportunites that are not so great. I finally hung up on him. Thank you for being here!

Most banks these days have 24/7 coverage. Call them immediately, do not wait until Monday.
