"Two other Toyota Dealerships told me to get an attorney because they found MY VIN IN THEIR PAPERWORK FOR FIX!!!!" Good. Take the truck to one of those two Dealerships. That should solve your problem with no more fuss. Good luck.

About the Happy Meals. I was comparing the losses in towing. You know comparison to money/Cash/etc. The dealership asked me to tow my truck in..under the pretense they would fix it under continuance of recall headgsket campaign. Then they denied the fix. But they took time to redo my steering rod.. Toyota paid for this.. My truck is junk without the headgaket replacement. They pulled a slick move based on lies or as they say HUMAN VERBAL ERROR but they made money doing something totally different. I paid $100 for a tow there and back to dealership.. Basically Wasting Money I could have spent on MY children ..You add it up $$$ .. How many Happy Meals is that.:( I cannot believe this can't you see what happened to me Cmon...!!!!!!! Two other Toyota Dealerships told me to get an attorney because they found MY VIN IN THEIR PAPERWORK FOR FIX!!!!

You are wondering how many happy meals your kids will miss out on if you have to pay for this???? HUH? If I misread please explain. Because I will choose to fix the car first so that the children have transportation, rather than worry about how many happy meals they aren't able to get.

That is not an attack. You want Toyota to repair a 13 year old truck for FREE, and they told you no. You complain about how it's not fair, yet it is. It is a 13 year old truck. The recall ended 2 years ago. I don't care about "Happy Meals", and my concern with your truck is simple...I have none. You posted a complaint, and I responded. Try doing like everyone else does. PAY to have your 13 year old truck repaired. Try using a shop that can do the job properly. I've done a few of them(Toyota 3.0) and none have ever had problems afterward. It's about $1500 to do both sides, with gaskets, bolts, fluids, labor, taxes, etc. Good luck.

That is good information about the 2004 end. Thank-you. This info will assist me further. I do agree that my truck is 13 years old .. I called the dealership and they knew its age and the status. They had me tow it in at my expense. BECAUSE THEY GOT PAID FOR ANOTHER CAMPAIGN. The enticement to me was "I WILL HELP YOU WITH HEADGASKET!" I pay for my tow in.. They keep it 4 weeks- I am denied assistance for the HEADGASKET .. but they make money on a Steering Rod Campaign. Regardless of what you feel, the revision inludes my truck. I faxed papers to two different Totoya dealerships and they agree. If the service guy at Toyota Grand Blanc would have followed the VIN correctly - He too would recognize this fact also. I did call him to let him know. This was a line of deception from the beginning. Maybe you have $ 100 dollars to lose at being promised assistance and then later seeing the real intent was to make money on a different recall. SLICK MOVE. Another point is why are you so critical of me and your interest in MY TRUCK is what? You have not my VIN or my data. If the campaign was completed as they say the campaign number would be for the campaign ongoing in 1996. Numbers on my paperwork do not coincide with 1996 data. I am an American.. I bought a truck without a USA Made label= That was my first mistake. My second, was to believe the dealership. ( I was told they did a headgasket repair on a 1991 two weeks prior to my tow in) 2 years older than mine. Robert, I was told they made a verbal error and where is my compassion. I do have compassion but I am not going to be treated poorly and have this swept under the rug. I am a single Mom. This is probably why I misred your rebuttal..I took it as an attack on me! I will look into the 2004 end. I thought it was relative to 98-99 Toyota T trucks. 100 dollars Robert, how many Happy meals are my kids missing out on??? I conclude my letter with this. Toyota knows the design flaw in head gaskets has effected many people and the costs have been extreme. POst NOte I have read too about a tBs labels for headgaskets being affixed under valve cover gaskets. Reference MSN groups. Good Luck .. Your right.. ____ happens . I just do not the smell of it around me.:)

I said Toyota ended the recall in 2004, not 1994. My facts are straight. 2004 is not 1994. The fact remains, you are out of luck, and 13 year old gaskets do go bad. Ten year old gaskets go bad. Five year old gaskets go bad. Brand new gaskets go bad. s**t happens. One thing is for certain though. The biggest cause of head gasket failure is high temperatures. Running one of these engines hot just one time is inviting disaster. Toyota has no obligation to repair your truck again. You were lucky they did anything at all for it after the initial warranty period was up.

Robert, I suggest you read a lil further into this. The recall did not end in 94 it actually was revised in 97 to include my Truck. YOu are very naive to the fact that the design flaw in these motors is what causes the head gaskets to blow. Consumers have paid 2-3 and 4 times for the replacement of head gaskets. It is a well known fact with TOYOTA that is why they extended the Campaign ( DEC97). The fact being I was misled to bring my truck into dealership for them to repair for me under Campaign .. This is the dealership that has me tow it in. (BY the way they did a headgasket repair on a 1991 2 weeks before my truck was towed in.) The dealership knew service was done 5/96. I was told by them to tow it in.. I did and they made money off of the Steering Rod Campaign knowing my truck had a blown headgasket. It was a slick move.. BY the way read a lil more on this and you will find 150 pages plus about this headgasket and recall problems. Toyota HAS PAID FOR MORE THAN ONE HEADGASKET! Now you see. I have 2 dealersisp that I faxed info to that agree with me.. MY VIN IS ELIGIBLE FOR RECALL. TOYOTA as of this date will not pay. I was ADVISED by ONE DEALERSHIP to retain a lawyer!!!! Cmon now.. Get your facts together!!!

Toyota ended the recall in 2004. But let's be realistic for a minute. You have a 13 year old truck. Did you really think the head gaskets would last forever? Good grief. "The customer is always wrong"...Another classic example.

I am reading my report and need to clarify that I told them Not to take off trailer if they were not willing to assist me. I did not proofread and see many spelling errors ooops Bottom line.. the extended Campaign on the 1990-1995 4 runners reads like this. VN39J& VN39W the VIN Range is 003109-0180701 and 8000000-8076027 My VIN number is VN39W 0097861 and it does fall into category of trucks involved in recall. I was treated like a ding-dong. I told the Service Guy (at dealership GB -who at that time was told by Toyota rep to "handle me") that my VIN was involved in this particular recall for assistance and he told me "No, sorry I cannot help you" I call the 1-800 331-Toyota they deny me and are rude to me . This has been one story of deception which I am told to excuse based upon human error. I was misinformed from the beginning. I have information that will back my repair of headgasket based upon OCT 1, 1996 -Dec 1997 amended Campaign. I am totally disgusted at this unfair business practice. Toyota and the Privately owned dealership need a Wake up call. The defect is in the design motor (3.0 l 6cy and they know it). The blown headgaskets continue and the consumer is expected to eat the costs. :( NOT GOOD -UNFAIR-!!!!!!
