On 1/11/09, I ordered a $1.98 CD from this site on Grants for women. On 1/20/09, I was surprised to see my bank card was charged $69.95 payable to Grant Funding Search.
I never received any confirmation email of my first transaction so after noticing the new charges, I searched my emails for anything relating to this whereby I might have missed the fine print and agreed to a service. There was nothing in my inbox, spam, deleted, or saved folders.
I called my bank and they gave me the phone number (888-210-2544) for Grant Funding Search, debit transaction on 1/11/09. The new charges were on hold until the next business day and the information was not accessable.
I called the number late last night and got an answering machine informing me it was after business hours, leave a message and I would be contacted the next day or I could email them at
[email protected]. At the end of their message, I was told I could not leave a voice message???
I emailed them twice already and have received no reply. I called the phone number during business hours today and was placed on hold waiting for the next available assistant. After a short wait, the same voice on the answering machine took my call. This person was unable to verify any account information without my bank account number which I refused to disclose, other than the last four digits.
Finally, I informed this person I would like my money refunded as this site is reported as a scam. I was told I ordered a CD for $1.98 and was granted access to their website and agreed to their terms and conditions that unless I cancelled the service within seven days I would be charged $69.95 per month.
In closing, I adamantly expressed my desire to cancel this service NOW. My request was verbally honored with the following reply. " All though we regret you are cancelling your service, we want you to know we appreciate the opportunity of doing business with you."
