GRE Development purchased our home at auction and owned it for over 6 months. During this time the entire house, minus the kitchen was "flipped": new paint, carpet, fixtures etc. When we puchased the home and began a remodel of the kitchen, extensive mold and water damage were discovered. There are at least 2 different sources of water damage to a total of 5 areas of the home. None of these defects were ever reported during the course of the sale.
As we have discovered in the course of our remediation, GRE and their agents painted over mold, laid carpets over water stained foundation, added additional carpet tack strip beside molded old strips. At no time did they remove any of the mold, remediate the water damage or investigate the source of the leak.
We have contacted GRE to assist us in rectifying the problem, which has rendered our home uninhabitable, however we merely received a letter from their attorney denying any responsibility.
