Great American Van Lines Beware!! Jersey City, New Jersey
Consumer beware - Great American Van Lines in Jersey City, New Jersey initially started off well - courteous and professional by phone. However, not only did the company not provide the right and actual number of movers - items were damaged as the furniture was moved carelessly.
Like other consumers, we were bullied to pay more $ for the move as well as a tip. The movers were aggressive and left our items on the front lawn and threatened to leave them there unless they received their money, despite damages done to the furniture. When tip was not the acceptable amount, the movers proceeded to utilize profanity and racist remarks. Assistance through management was empty. Calls were not returned. Do not think that purchasing insurance as made available through their company covers damages either. Since damage was not incurred by a moving vehicle accident, then insurance claim was denied as the movers themselves caused the damage.
