I reached out to "Green Air D" through their Valu Pak mailer in June specifically on Monday June 16th and made an appointment with the woman on the other end to have my system inspected. She told me that the service man would assist in deeming if my system was operable as I had purchased and remodelled a home and had never used the existing unit and needed to get it checked out. On Wednesday June 20th at around 1 p.m. Isaac the technician from the company arrived at my home with an assistant who seemingly spoke the same language as he did (israeli), and told me that he would be happy to clean my system.

I told him that I would be happy to pay the 50.00 to do the cleaning , he told me that before I spent a penny that he would check the system out and inspect to make sure that there was no mildew or mold issues present. I told him that I didn't really want to spend any money on cleaning a system if the existing unit(s) were inoperable. He told me and he repeated this several times in the vicinity of other remodellers who were present in my home that my system was working fine that he was an Electrician educated in Israel and working on an apprenticeship with the "Green Air D" company. He told me that he would go outside and inspect the system to make sure it worked.

He then went outside and started performing what I believed to be tests to ensure operability of the unit. He came back into the house a few minutes later and told me that he could save me 10,000 dollars on a new unit as all my unit needed was a thorough mold and mildew cleaning and duct cleaning as there was mold and mildew detected at a high level in the ducts. he said this in front of the remodeller John, my roomate Noel and myself . I asked if they took credit cards and he told me that there was an additional fee if we used credit cards but that he could call the supervisor and negotiate for me. In the meantime he had his side kick the other person who could not speak english start vacumming the ducts.

This created a very loud vacuuming noise and it made it difficult for me to speak to his supervisor as there was no way to hear anyone, so when I asked if I could speak to his supervisor to qualify why they would charge me a credit card fee, with the understanding that a merchant cannot charge you extra for the use of a credit card , he assured me that he would help me out and speak to the owner and get me clearance. He stepped out of the house to make his call, as the vacuum was going and he would not let this man stop as they had other appointments to get to and they wanted to stay on time.

When he came back he spoke to his assistant in israeli and then went on to perform some chemical tests, he brought them over to me to show me that my system had mold and mildew in it from non use for a few months and reiterated again that if we cleaned the system of mold and mildew that then the system would work perfectly and he could save me thousands (10,000 thousand) dollars in new system costs. i asked what it would cost to do this and he told me he could do a through cleaning for a little over 1000.00. He told me that if he could not do the cleaning that it was not appropriate to turn the system on as it would spread Mold spores and mildew around the house , and since new carpeting had just been installed and all the drywall was up and painted I agreed that this seemed like a logical step.

They went ahead and did the cleaning and then apparently turned the system on and left. After a little while I noticed that the house did not appear cooler and was wondering if in fact the 1071.67 that I had just spent had been worth it. I called Isaac the technician back and he eventually called me back after 7 p.m. that day to explain that likely the reason it wasn't working well is because I had no thermostat installed and that if a thermostat was installed it would help control the coolness. He suggested that he could install one and that he would be back on Friday. Since we had not yet moved into the unit I assumed it would be fine.

So on Friday June 22nd he arrived at my home after 6:30 p.m. alone and with me and my roomate Noel Gonzales present went onto to attempt to install the thermostat. He did not wear a tool belt and did not have the right drills to install this thermostat, and initially he made two round holes into the wall adjacent to the furnace and told me that it was difficult to install the thermostat on the wall as the thickness was too great. So instead he installed the thermostat next to the furnace and then covered up all the exposed wire with Foil telling Noel and I that it was fine. He turned the system on and left abruptly. Within the hour we noticed that there was still no change to the temperature in the house.

It was still 89 degrees inside the home even though the unit was running. We called him back. He came back to the house and then we showed him that the unit was not running well he told us that he believed that my workmen (my remodellers) had tampered with the wiring to the system and somehow diabled it from the previous wednesday when he had performed the system check. I immediately called my remodeller John and asked if he knew or had knowledge that this was the case. He assured me that this in fact was untrue and that no one had touched the wires . He then basically told us it wasn't his problem as last he checked it was working for him.

I then proceeded to call the police to report the incident. They directed me to a reputable company to have them check the system out. i called DRain Air and Rescue and the next morning the Technician Rudy arrived promptly at 9 a.m. to check out my system . He has provided me with a sheet dated 6/23/2012 listing all the reasons why the system had not been allegedly checked out as there was no freon in the system, and based on the low voltage wire to the condenser the system could never have been operable. Essentially Isaac from Air Duct Cleaning or Green Air D as they call themselves with my credit card company had lied to upsell his services.

Please be wary of this company. I am attempting to get resolution through the BBB, as I have called Air Duct Cleaning offices daily and left messages with both assistants and their voice mail with little affect other than to have the assistants tell me that they will pass my message off to the owner Jason Rodriguez. Needless to say this matter is not resolved and I have given this company over 30 days to make it right without even an apology call or a letter from the so called owner. His assistants all have asian accents and I suspect it is a front for fraud.
