I recently purchased a Green dot card from Fred Dec 24,2012 to purchase orders offline. I put $350.00 on the card. I went home to register the card and the it said the card number is invalid. So I went back up to Fred's and the said it wasn't anything that they could do I would have to take this up with Green dot. So I call Green dot corporation and gave them my information and they ask me to wait 24 hours to see what happen with my card. I called the next day and ask about the status of it and I keep getting the run around. Is there any thing I could do to get my money back? This is the worst Christmas ever for me and my four year old daughter.

The Green Dot cards are reloadable prepaid Visa or MasterCard Card debit cards. When this card is registered you receive a card personalized with your name that allows you to make purchases where Visa and MasterCards are accepted, ATM withdrawals and can be reloaded. Due to these features federal law requires us to obtain, verify and record information that identifies customers before they register a card. This includes your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number and other information.  If we are unable to verify your information we would not be able to register a personalized reloadable debit card. You can still register the card or request a refund if we are unable to verify your personal information by calling customer support. Why didn't you deposit the money into your checking account and then use your debit card for the online purchases?

Your daughter would have had a nicer Christmas if you had started shopping prior to December 24th. When you started shopping that late it would have been wiser to shop locally so she could have received her presents by Christmas.
