Complaint Review: Greg Daney-HFR Capital Assets LLC Chahta Construction LLC LoanSum LLC cards2cash LLC - Maryland Heights MO

I bought my home in August of 2012.  This home was a rehab and done by a company called HFR Capital Assets.  My inspection showed several thing that needed fixed properly but most of all not only did the inspector state that the roof needs replace NOW but the insurance company wouldn’t insure me until it was replaced because it was so bad.  My paperwork addendums and contracts for purchasing my home were signed by Darren Butram with HFR Captial Assets.  Around October 2017 I noticed a water spot inside my home on the ceiling in the bedroom and looked through my paper work and contacted HFR Capital Assets LLC, the register agent with the Missouri Secretary of State, Greg Daney, who told me it was the roofer I need to take it up with not him, I called the roofer Jeremy Bayer Design and Consulting, LLC (His name at the time) and he was rude and arrogant and told me to go back to HFR.  After a month or so of arguing with HFR (Greg Daney) and him stating that his LLC was no longer active, in which he may not have been operating under it but it was not wound up so legally still active LLC.  I turned them and the roofer into the Attorney General and everything I could. 

Comments back from Greg Daney from the Attorney General were that the roof was in fine condition and that it being 5 years old that’s why I’m having the problems I am (seriously) the roof only last for 5 years?  He made statements that drip edge and step flashing were appropriately done etc.  On July 2018 I got my roof approved through Safeco from Hail Damage that occurred on 11-2017.  When they ripped it off the roofing company His and Hers Construction couldn’t believe what they saw on a 34 year old home. Holes had been patched with pieces of metal stapled to the roof; pieces of duct work covered some holes.  There was NO drip edge on any part of the house nor was their step flashing except on one corner of the peak of the porch.  Needless to say the roofers took many pictures. There ended up being 27 sheets (equating to 864 sq ft of a 2000 sq ft roof) of sheathing that had to be replaced because of holes and soft spots and mold, this from years and years of water problems well before HFR Capital Assets LLC hired Jeremy Bayer Design and Consulting Inc.  to replace the roof in 2012.  Jeremy Bayer clearly covered up known damage and passed this home off to me as a buyer as done right, even stating in his invoice that sheathing was replaced.  The gutters fell off the house and the wood underneath literally crumbled, there were places on the fascia that they had put Styrofoam as filler to hide missing rotted wood. 

Greg Daney wound up his company properly oddly enough after I spoke to him and called him out.  I obtained an attorney and spoke to him in July 2018 and was told that there was a breach of contract for sure, but just like many LLC’s they get in trouble, close their LLC and open as another name and repeat screwing over someone else.  However what doesn’t change although their LLC or INC name may is their real name.  Beware of doing business of any kind with Greg Daney, Darren Butram or Jeremy Bayer.  These people ended up all changing their LLC name and continue to practice under other names and I’m sure screwing people over.  DO NOT do business with these people.  This whole roof process costed Safeco over $8000 and I had only had the house for 5 years when I noticed the problems.  The ONLY way I would have known this wasn’t done right before damage was evident was to have them rip the roof off in front of me before I signed off on my home which is absurd.  Statement was given by roofing company that this damage was evident when roof was replaced by Bayer Design and had been years and years prior damage.
