Upon entering college my father, a state employee on a limited budget purchased an 1996 S-10 Pickup for me to drive to college. S-10's were extremely popular back then and everyone seemed to like them, so this is the truck I selected. Again, this was a brand new truck "0" miles. Within 4 months the battery stopped working and they did replace it; but shortly after that the wiper blades motor started acting up and they replaced that. Then at about 9,000 miles I noticed my tires were balding, I took it to the dealer and he said that my tires were performance tires that wear out quicker and nothing was wrong with the truck.

If I wanted to complain I needed to file my complaints with Goodyear. I took my truck to a local machanic and he stated and wrote a letter confirming that the reason the tires were wearing out so quickly was because the Idle Arm was slightly crooked and needed to be replaced. But, off course Baker Chevolt refused to pay for such an expensive repair, eventhough at this point it was still under warranty. Then, around 12,000 miles and two sets of tires my radiator gave out, again Baker Chevolt refused to take responsbility for its faulty products and neither did Chevolet central. So bascially I ended up spending $1,400 out of pocket to get the radiator replaced.

Then the radiator locked up again within a year!! Come to find out Chevolet had inadvetently built S-10 for that year using a new dex coolient (red radiator fluid) that would thicken up like Georgia Mud in the radiator and bascially overheat and flush this gunk through the system. Again Baker Chevolet refused to take any type of action, refusing to admit there was manufature error and I was out of pocket another $1,400.

My greivance is that Baker Chevolet knew there were manufacture issues with both the Idle arm and radiator for my truck long before it became a problem or an expense to me or my father. To this day they have never admitted the errors, yet I noticed later models had different idle arms, radiators, and other parts that consistiently failed which in my mind proves that the dealer and Chevolet deliberately Lied.
