Grupo Mayan, Mayan Palace - Mayan Palace Resort Chain with timeshares in Mexcio with high pressure sales of far overpriced services and false advertising. Acapulco, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta Riviara Maya Nationwide
Beware of this resort timeshare chain. False advertising and they have very high pressure sales like I have never seen before. They basically break their guests down over several hours so that by the end, nearly everyone buys something from them. In our case, we blocked the timeshare sale they pushed on us for a few hours, and by the end of the day, they sold us an HSI Holiday Systems International vacation club for $1800 and $100/year renewal fee, with promisses of good discounts on a variety of travel options and destinations.
It turns out, the savings are geneally only $100 per week vacation, and the discounts are usually with second and third rate accomodations in each location and forced to be outside of the major holidays. So, the savings are minimal, and members are directed away from the best lodging in the area.
Also, the process is very cumbersome as they respond only after several days while they search for the best package to broker to the member. In essence, HSI Holiday Systems International is a standard travel company that is simply a money making business at their member's expense.

I know what you mean. Once I attended a Mayan Palace timeshare presentation just to get the freebies. We tried to say no until we were so tired of it we agreed to a 90 minute presentation for $100 USD per couple and 10% off of our charges for the week. The 90 minutes became 150 minutes. Each time they were ready to let us leave a different person prevented us from leaving. Very rude and dishonest. I had to express anger at the fifth person before they showed us the door. This left a sour taste in our mouths for the last few days.
