I placed an order on May 24, 2002 with salesman, Jeff, for a Re-manufactured Precor 544EFX elliptical. The price agreed upon including shipping was $2395.00 and an invoice was faxed from Jeff at Gympros to me. Jeff told me that he would "tag" a unit that was in stock with my name and because they didn't take credit cards I would have to Fed-Ex my cashier's check overnight, with Gympros Fed-Ex account number, and he would ship the unit immediately after he received the check.

It is now January 2003 and I have never heard back from Gympros since, despite numerous phonecalls begging and pleading anyone who would listen, usually just the receptionist, for some information on whether or not my cashier's check had been received, if a unit had been shipped, etc. After much frustration because of the Gympros employees skillfully avoiding my calls and giving me the completely obvious runaround, by the middle of July, I finally had accepted that I had been scammed out of my money. I had never experienced any customer service as arrogant, incompetant and deceptive as this. I continued to call Gympros, each time getting more aggressive, and I could predict what Venetia or one of the other girls that answered the phone was going to say, either, that person is away from their desk, or , in a meeting, or I promise I will call you back with the details after 1:00 pm. It was actually comical. The excuses were repetitive, stale and "an insult to my intelligence" as I had put it to Venetia one day and all I got in return was if I left a message, someone would get back to me. I tried to reach thru the receiver so I could get my hand around her neck. Shortly after this, the phones at Gympros no longer existed, it would just ring and ring and then go dead.

Gympros practices are criminal. I am convinced from reading so many other peoples' stories so similar to my experience, that Gympros knew for quite a while they were in trouble and continued to take peoples' orders and money for products that they knew were not in stock and were not able to acquire. So many were coerced into sending their funds the quickest way possible, going as far as giving customers their Fed-Ex account number in order to get money overnight, with no intention of shipping any fitness equipment.

To all who may read this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! report your complaint about Gympros/NUGYM/Gymprofit to any organization that has the resources to spread this information quickly. The more people that report their case from Gympros, the more likely that action will be taken.
