Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I am in the process or clearing out my media collection. I opted to do this via half.com. I had several sales on July 10, 2007 and as usual, I pack the orders as soon as they come in and typically ship the following day if present day isn't possible. For some reason, I decided to check my payment history. One of the items I had sold was not showing up. I emailed customer support and explained that the sale was showing up on my "Sales" page, but not in my payment history. I finally received a reply from Customer Support on July 13, 2007 stating:

"Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your recently sold Half.com transaction that is not showing up in your payment history.

I've checked your payment history, and I can see that you are correct, that transaction is not appearing. We have gone ahead and passed this information on to our technicians. They will look into this, and hopefully have this resolved soon."

That same date (July 13, 2007), I once again checked my payment history as I had had several more sales. This time 2 items were missing from the payment history. I immediately emailed Customer Service. I have not heard back from them yet.

I began checking out the website, hoping to find announcements relating to this problem. What I found instead was a forum thread of other people who are having the same problem. I also found out from reading this thread that this isn't the first time this has happened this year, which tells me I need to check and make sure I have been paid for everything I have shipped. According to what I have read, half.com gets a "technological glitch" which keeps items from showing up in the payment history, it eventually get fixed but the buyer doesn't receive payment until the next (bi-monthly) pay period after the glitch is fixed. No efforts are made on half.com's part to issue an additional pay period when the glitch is fixed.

My concern is this. I am sure the few who are posting on the forums is only a small percentage of the people this "glitch" is effecting. If they have, say... 25,000 sellers and they withhold payment from every other item sold from those sellers... we'll say 10 items per seller. We'll also say for arguments sake that each item that sells would be a reimbursement of $2.00 back to the seller (I'm using an extreme low end sale as an example). That comes out to $500,000.00 that half.com would be withholding for a minimum of 2-3 weeks and collecting interest on or using otherwise.

I sincerely believe this company needs to be investigated, and I hope I can be of some assistance and I hope even more that I can find some assistance.

Thank you.

Mary
