Halton Investment Company, Company cops real websites. Pretends to be a legit investment company. London United Kingdom Internet
Our company was approached by Halton Investments, which asked for our bona fides and relevant documents, such as a business plan, current financials, etc. Our responding was based on their website, which indicated they had done many multi-million dollar deals with legitimate companies. We sent the docs. They took a few days to "review" and then sent a long-form application, which we were instructed to fill in. As the spelling, grammar and syntax of the accompanying email was less than professional, we did some research... and actually called one of the companies, Insalada, they listed as being under Halton Investment Company. The VP of Insalada said we were not the first to call; that his attys were looking into shutting these scam artists down. We also called the phone number given, which is a London phone, but it doesn't even ring through. We also phoned the "company attys" they listed in Dubai: an Arabic-speaking couple answered, and had no idea what we meant by calling them. NOT A LAW FIRM.
Here is the Halton email of Oct. 29, 2013:

I appreciate your prompt response to my mail , We will be glad to work with you, so i do here provide you with other details regarding this offer. I wish to inform you that currently, Halton Investment Company Ltd UK is offering Loan/Investment fund to cooperate bodies, companies, industries and individuals with profitable business idea and investment projects in any area of specialization that will make a better returns for both parties involved.
We have carefully studied your project/business plan and I must say it is a very good project. However, the board of directors will be meet for deliberations on the funding of your project . We will also be contracting the services of an attorney, Allied Advocates & Legal Consultants, who will be making the legal presentation of your project before the board
I will Make sure to also update you with reference to all our conclusions with the board. Meanwhile, Find attached the project application form fill and return to support the business plan.
We will move forward as soon as we received the filled project application form.

We responded to this email, asking them to please explain
We replied to the Halton email, asking them to explain why their website was nearly identical to that of Insalada. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY REPLY. Meanwhile, my email is constantly being bombarded with all kinds of "instant Loan" offers. Seems this was a fishing expedition, or phishing... as I replied to Halton, and they probably sold my email.
