*PUBLIC NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION *

First off I am an avid gardener of all things green including butterfly host plants.  I have several milkweed plants that grow on my property every year alongside several other plants and evergreen trees.  The milkweed plants seem to like the city's parkway also.  Every year I have several hundred monarch butterfly eggs that appear on the bottom of the leaves.  And yes, there are caterpillars!  I have a sign mounted on the front of the house " Monarch Waystation ".  The evergreens are located within my property line alongside all the other plants.  One day I received a notice from the City to cut down all plants and trim the evergreens. The grass was apx 4in tall.  I refused to cut down plants and trim the evergreens.   I was to kill all the monarch eggs and trim the evergreens to appear as a "green mushroom"!

About 2 months later I had a Court order that the City would take matters in their own hands.  I personally will not kill anything.  The milkweeds eventually died off due to end of season but I never cut down anything further.  The neighbors don't like anything or anyone but themselves!  I am in true belief that the bulky neighbors complained.  So on October 6th, the City came to weedwack the grass down to the dirt, flowers/ivy were destroyed to the dirt and the evergreens now appear as a green mushroom!

They also billed me $390.00 for a " seasonal clean and trim ".  All of a sudden the title became mild.  Vandalism, harassment, malicious with a killer demeanor is the City's motto.  If they don't like it or it stands in their way, kill it!  I took pictures of this total destruction and contacted the IN Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.   They in turn said " I don't have enough of evidence ".  By this they mean " we are covering this case up to spare humiliation and disgrace ".  The ordinance in Hammonds Golden book states grass and weeds can be no higher then 6in.  Nothing is mentioned about chewing flowers to the dirt.  Nor is there anything mentioned about trimming your evergreens in a mushroom shape.  If they don't like it, they will kill it at any cost.

Mayor McDermott intends to totally destroy Briar Woods ( Hammond IN ) and its wetland.   He plans on building a overpass/bridge in that area.  So what happens to the critters that live there?  They will become part of the bridge cement.  See what a wonderful Mayor I am?  It they don't like it or it stands in their way they will kill it!
