Harris and Clark "staffing agency" asks for credit check and personal information over the internet before you apply to the position! Internet, Internet
Well, I did some job searching on Craigslist (I know, totally unreliable) but, some are legit.
I applied for a position in Admin in Minnesota and I received this email:

Sent: Friday, December 16, 2011 12:11 PM
Subject: Regarding Your Resume - ID # 1R64
Hello
Your resume has been received.
We look forward to reviewing your application and discussing the opportunities that we have available.
The position you inquired about is a full-time non-exempt opening.
The pay range for job position is $18.25 hr to $21.50 hr.
The following potential job perks are available and will be discussed at our first formal interview.

Higher than average salaries

I went to the site and applied with my personal info first then went on to the next page where they ask for a credit report check and will also allow you to click a link to get one.
My personal take, I don't think that this is even neccassary to be sharing such personal information with any employer over the internet! This smelt like a scam to me. Maybe a different story if they interviewd you and then offered you a position but before they proceed as for a credit check? I mean, that would be a little more legit.
