We were enticed by an ad in the Daily Progress that offered a free $250 gas card (when gas was close to $4/gal) with the purchase of any digital set of hearing aids. The ad also offered a $10 gas card just for coming in.

Mr. Pogreba performed the hearing test and then proceeded to demonstrate his digital hearing aids for my husband. He then asked my husband if he wanted to try them out but failed to mention that there would be a charge.

When we went to check out with the secretary, she asked us how we wanted to handle the charge of $650. I was anxious for my husband to get a hearing aid, so I convinced him to go ahead and charge it and we could probably decide on something.

The more we thought about the $650 charge, the more we felt like we were getting ripped off. At no time did Mr. Pogreba say anything about a charge. We were confronted by the secretary (with other people right there in the reception area) to make a snap decision about the charge.

My husband felt that in no way were the hearing aids worth the $6500 they wanted to charge for them, so he took them back within a couple days and told them he wanted his money back. They told him that was not be possible because it would have to go through their account department and may take a few days.

After giving them a letter and several phone calls, we finally did get $350 refunded, but they kept the $300 FOR THEIR TIME!!

Just beware, if you walk out of their office with hearing aids to "try", you will be charged $300, even if you only "wasted" one hour of their time.

We are very sorry that they felt this way about their experience. We have numerous testimonials on our website, on YouTube, and on the local TV station NBC 29. Our purchase agreement you signed clearly states that a 10% fitting fee is retained and refunds are made within 10 business days. Anyone aware of the cost of running a business knows why this is necessary. One hearing aids are placed on a person in order to be returned we are charged a restocking/cleaning fee. There is also our time and employees time and advertising costs and they gifts such as the client mentioned for coming in. Even though our purchase agreement clearly states we retain 10% we graciously agreed to refund an additional 1/2 of that amount. We have been in business in the hearing industry for 10 years. We have many more positive responses than negative. We give everyone a 60 day trial so had the client not given up and not even tried the product and given it a chance then Christian probably would have refunded his purchase in full. We are committed to helping people hear better and if christian had not been able to help this client hear better he would have provided a full refund to this client. They wouldn't even give us an opportunity to help them but expected us to see them for free.

Nothing was hidden everything was very clear and mostly we are sorry the hearing problem was not resolved. We carry less expensive options but the client wouldn't even come in to discuss it. We hope this client was able to get the help they needed eventually.
