But you (the BREEDER) detract from your credibility by stating false information about rectal prolapse: "Animals that experience recurrent episodes of prolapse or that have prolapses of the full-thickness of the bowel wall usually have an underlying disease that causes excessive straining to defecate. The underlying pathology is usually a parasitic infection that causes inflammation of the bowel or anus (enteritis and proctitis, respectively). In kittens or puppies this is most often associated with chronic or severe diarrhea. Other conditions producing increased intra-abdominal pressure or staining, such as space-occupying masses and tumors, urogenital tract disorders, difficult labor, foreign bodies, and other similar processes may also result in rectal prolapse." What say you?

This person needs to also post the phone number for this vet here on this site. If so, you could see for yourself that what they report here could not be any further from the truth. Unless they are willing to put the vet's phone number so their story could be confirmed one way or another, you need to remove that posting. These people are a dog breeders worst nightmare. This puppy was sold with a written/signed 1 year genetic guarantee, and also an unconditional 72 hour guarantee allowing the new owners to have a complete vet exam done. This document was received by the new owners. This puppy had been in the care of this family for over 2 months when she was put euthanized by the choice of her owners (NOT by the advise of their vet) due to Rectal Prolapse. Rectal Prolapse is not genetic or hereditary at all. It's directly caused by how a puppy is cared for. Rectal Prolapse occurs when a puppy goes a long time without being allowed to use the bathroom, eats a low quality food all at once, and does not have enough water. In short, rectal prolapse is caused by severe constipation. Then, when the dog finally can use the bathroom to move a really big stool, it also pushes out part of the lower intestine with it. It's very painful for the dog. For example, if somebody leaves a puppy in a crate all day while they are at work without water available. Then gives them a bunch of cheap food all at once, this is how it occurs. Rectal Prolapse is NOT very common in puppies. Most people would NOT take care of a puppy they loved that way. NOR is it life threatening. It's not even a complicated surgery at all. It's simply sewing up back up the rectum, with a few stitches. However, the after care is VERY important, because without proper care, the rectum will tear again causing a much bigger tear, a big problem overall. After the surgery, the dog must eat soft food for 2 weeks, have plenty of water and MOST important be able to use the bathroom without having to hold it at all. Allowing the whole issue time to heal. Obviously, they did not change anything about how they were caring for the dog. Instead the same thing happened again. She developed a 2nd rectal prolapse, tearing all the stitches. In addition, this time twisted up her lower intestines and caused infection to boot. Not only did she die by the choice and bad care of her new owners, she died a painful death. IF you had confirmed this report by calling the vet, you would find out for yourself there was NO specific hip X-Ray done at all. That's part is completely false. The new owners made a completely false claim about something genetic in order to get a refund. These people were a dog breeders worst nightmare. I was very sad about what had happened to that puppy, we had raised since birth and had a wonderful personality. I would have been glad to correct those rectal issues myself (even though that was not genetic or caused by us in anyway) and find her a new home (even if I'd given her away for free) to somebody who would have taken good care of her. Or, if they'd even called and said we really don't have time for a puppy, I would have been glad to help find her a new home with somebody in their area if they didn't have time to get her back to us. Had they corrected her rectal issue and wanted to return her for the hips (even without a certified report per the health guarantee) or because of a cherry eye or even because they just didn't want her, we would have returned every PENNY of her price. I was very, very upset they choose (without consulting us until afterwards) to put this puppy asleep instead of having her rectum issues corrected or least sending her back to us so we could have done so ourselves. In addition, to the absolute lies you allow people to post here without ever confirming one story, you allow people to use every racial put down in the book. I just glanced at the front page of this site, and noticed people using a host of racials slurs. If that's this site definition of free speech and consumer rights, it's nothing to be proud of at all. That is horrible. This site has taken the idea free speech into something else completely.
