Liars & Crooks!!

  Absolute worst estate sale experience I have ever had! I was convinced to purchase 2 prints, told that there are online records of them being SOLD for $700 to $1000 each. I was very skeptical and asked repeatedly, "are you absolutely sure?" and the owner replied "Yes, absolutely" I mentioned that I am a dealer and need to resell them so I am trusting you here. At that point with the claims of the owner of Heirlooms Estate Sales Melissa Maynard, I fealt comfortable enough that I did not need to do any research at that moment using my i-phone. Big Mistake!

  For 2 prints that I paid $700 for, you can buy them right now through several internet sites for less than $150 each. It was at this point that I called Heirlooms Estate Sales (left a message) and told them of my findings and that I would be returning them for a refund. The next morning, I went back to the estate sale and they refused to take them back even with the printed proof I brought with me which they were not even interested in looking at. Basically what they did is they cherry picked through their research results which only yeilded one record of one of them selling for $825 a couple years ago, "One" and absolutely none having reached the $1000 high that they claimed.

  I did mention to them that it was not worth it for them to not give me a refund as my experience will be shared throughout the internet and once it is there, even I cannot remove it and they responded with, "Thats okay, I will roll the dice".

Bottom line is that they never should have made any claims and be so insistent on those claims. They made a big mistake and now they will pay for it, more than the cost of the prints.

We are so sorry you are not happy with your purchase.  However, I would like to clarify some of the things you have claimed here.  

     First of all we are an Estate Sale company, Our main goal is to make as much money we can for our client who is liquidating.  Like you told me you are a “reseller” so you should be 100% familiar with the risks associated with purchasing from Estate Sales.  You should also know that we have approximately 7 days to research and price thousands of items.  

     With that said I personally researched those prints and found record of them selling for over $800 (Which I sent to you on Saturday afternoon) I also informed you on Saturday that I would be happy to give you a call Monday morning to further discuss this.  Instead, you arrived on Sunday in the middle of our sale.  I had to neglect other customers to look at the “proof” you brought.  I pointed out several inconstancies in the ads you were showing me.  The prints you brought “proof” of did not appear to be the same as the ones we sold you.  You refused to listen to to anything I was telling you, including the fact that I showed you proof of the prints selling for over $800 each.  

     I stand by my pricing of the prints and I believe you were given a fair deal.  Don’t forget that I threw in $500 worth of Sterling Silver.  I recommend you do a little more research on the prints you have.  I also recommend that if you are going to continue in the business of reselling, you familiarize yourself with the Estate Sale process, when researching items we don’t have time to “cherry pick” we find the first proof of sale and price accordingly.  There is a reason why professional resellers have their smart phones out from the second they walk in the door.  With no less than 4 signs around the house that say “No Refunds” “As-Is” one would assume you would know what you are buying.  

     Again, I stand behind my pricing and I in no way think you were wronged I just wanted to share the other side of the story.  Lastly threatening to fight my husband and causing a scene is not a way to get what you want. You catch more bees with honey :).  We appreciate your opinion and the time your are devoting to “making us pay for this.” At the end of the day we still have a full schedule and thousands of happy customers.  Take care and happy holidays!
