Herb Chambers Cadillac Hosed At Herbies Herb Chambers Cadillac Providence Rhode Island
I wouldnt send my worst enemy to this place. I was a master automotive technician for most of my life until I started a new business.
I sent My Cadillac to Herb Chambers for a "specific repair" that I asked for. The vehicle was already diagnosed 3 times.
Instead, they performed what they "felt like doing" and overcharged me by hundreds and hundreds of dollars. They assured me 7 times it was fixed and I was wrong with my diagnoses.
The car made it 7 miles and broke down on a busy highway. I then called the service writer who could have cared less, I then called the service manager (no call back) the next day I called the general manager (no call back)
I then waited an extra day and put a stop payment on the check.....THEN they called back. The puppet of a General Manager called me and was the most unprofessional rude a*****e I've ever spoken to. To say they could have cared less about my car no being fixed would be a great understatement. They cared about collecting the funds, period. In fact, if we were in the room together instead of being on the phone it would have tuned into an actual fist fight.
So heres what I had to pay for:
1.) An engine that blew after they worked on it and tried to cover up an overheating/boilover problem by over tightening the overflow cap with a pair of plyers.
2.) A new remote door opener (or key fob) that didnt work becuase they didnt program it correctly. They said "well we took the item out of the box you asked for so you have to pay"
(I programmed it my d**n self)
3.) A trunk latch repair, where the "technician" put rubber trunk seal back on wrong which let 3 inches of water into my trunk.
4.) 50% Higher bill than quoted on the phone. Thats illegal in MA, but not sure about RI
5.) Threatening letters
6.) High blood pressure
7.) A court case
8.) A good lesson!
Herb Chambers in not just here on the ripoffreport, its all over the web- From sales to service and many ex-employee's who were mistreated.
I hate you Herb Chambers and hate your general manager more...
