I recently turned my motorcycle into Heritage Cycles on 4 Mar on their re-opening. I had an oil leak on the right side transmission/trap door gasket. The service department said that I needed to replace the transmission casing and gasket.

One week later they informed me that the transmission casing was on 10 day backorder. In addition I needed a new transmission, or at least replace the shaft. I went to the shop on the 14th and discovered that the parts were not ordered. This is after calls from the service department stating that I would have my bike back by that weekend. The service department informed me a couple of times a week that the parts would be in tomorrow and that I would be riding by the next afternoon.

The next event took place was a call from the service dept. stating that I could pick my bike up on the 4th of April. I was pulling into the parking lot when the service dept. called and stated that the casing was still not in. I proceeded inside, where the service technician researched and ordered a casing from another dealer and had it overnighted.

I finally picked up my bike on the 7th of April. At this time I discovered they replaced my clutch cable and charged me for it. They stated that my old one was broken and could not be put back on (Never had a problem with it working correctly). They did comp some of the labor charges. I was informed that I was lucky because the owner wanted to charge me for overnighting the part that took over a month to get.

I rode my bike home that evening, about 15 miles. The next day I went for a ride, at or about 25 miles, where my shifter rod fell off while riding, and was almost rear ended because of the inability to accelerate. Two days later with less than 60 miles on my bike I went to start it and the battery arched to the motorhead and my electrical went out on my bike, leaving me stranded. I managed to get my bike home and dropped the battery where I discovered that the negative battery post was not screwed on completely.

I waited on my bike for over a month for something that should not take professionals more than two weeks to complete. I am afraid to ride more than 100 miles away from my home in case something else falls off or breaks due to the service I received. These are the facts from my experience with Heritage Cycles. Take from this account what you will when looking for service on your motorcycle.
