Re: Order H7917321 Dated 8/13/06 Delivered 8/23/06, $3633.63, SN#CND6331YVB. Purchased a Pavilion dv8000t for my daughter's use in Graduate School. Two weeks after delivery, laptop began to exhibit keyboard problems causing changes in case without shifting, freezing up, and then crashing. Called HP and downloaded multiple fixes that did not resolve the issue.

Researched problem on the net and found that this problem is prevalent on this model and that HP continues to sell defective merchandise. I have e-mails from HP Customer Care acknowledging the problem stating that the new BIOS (the fix) are not ready for distribution. Case managers have the same patented answers for all problems, mail it back. This will accomplish nothing if the fix is not ready. This is a stall tactic to buy time.

The case managers are patronizing and condescending and cannot make a hardfast decision knowing they have my family's money. In the meantime, the machine is constantly crashing while my daughter is in class and she will need to take her finals using her old Dell laptop because her HP unit is unreliable.
