I bought a new dishwasher and had it installed by H.H. Gregg. I was assured of a "professinal installation" -- they charge enough for it, anyway.

Randy, the professional installer, left my 7 week old, brand new kitchen floor cut and curled and torn up in front of the new dishwasher. It looks awful!

I called their install supervisor, and he sent someone out to look at it to determine what H.H. Gregg could do and if they were at fault. Who arrives? Randy!

Of course, Randy determined that H.H. Gregg was not at fault. He did this and he is going to determine he was wrong? H. H. Gregg's response to this? Randy is honest and will admit fault if H.H. Gregg is at fault, they have insurance.

Randy admitted to me that he had to cut the floor because the feet of my old dishwasher were stuck to it. He could fix it by pulling the new dishwasher out futher, but it would not look right and you would be able to see into the sides of the dishwasher into the cabinet space. Either way, it would look bad.

I pointed out that I had a new dishwasher installed in this very house twice before and there had not been this ripped floor problem-- that Sears had done those, not H.H. Gregg - and Sears had been able to install it looking correct without tearing up my floor.

Randy's response was that I had been lucky! He then proceeded to tell me other stories about floors being torn up and the new dishwasher having problem with the install and looking right - that when you get a new dishwasher, you just take your chances.

I had no idea that the professional install from H.H. Gregg would be me "taking my chances" and the install would be at the cost of my brand new, beautiful kitchen floor. Randy admits cutting it -- he had to because that is where the feet of the old washer were stuck to it.

Final determination by Randy - -the "professional installer" ?

My tough luck and not H.H. Gregg's fault. Subject closed.

I went on line to file a complaint about this with the BBB only to find that the BBB will not accept an H.H. Gregg complaint unless the consummer has first talked to Jim Wilson. Nobody at H.H. Gregg, not the website, not the store manager, nobody can tell me how to contact this Mr. Wilson . I asked for his phone number and was told that he had assistants, and the assistants ahd assistants - and that I would not be able to get through to him.

I am stunned that I was so trusting, thinking H.H. Gregg to be a reputable compnay, and now my brand new kitchen floor is cut and curling and pitiful looking. And H.H. Gregg's Response, like "Where is Waldo" you can now play "Where is Jim Wilson" and the bottom line is -- "Tough Luck."

Randy is a real doofus. He came to my house several months ago to do some work in my kitchen. I led him to the kitchen, and then left to do some work in my backyard. About 10 minutes later, I heard and saw a large explosion from the kitchen. The kitchen and all of the adjoining rooms were devastated. I asked Randy what happened, and he told me that the feet on my dishwasher were stuck to my stone tile floor, and that dynamite was the only way to free a dishwasher from a stone tile floor. He admitted that 3 sticks was probably a bit too much. I then asked him why he was removing my dishwasher anyway, as my request was to have my garbage disposal replaced. He looked at the work order and apologized. He called his boss and they were willing to knock 5% off the garbage disposal as compensation for blowing up my house. I explained to them that since I no longer had a sink or kitchen, a garbage disposal was of no value. So Randy is right, when you get a new dishwasher, you take your chances, even if you're getting a garbage disposal.
