Highland Home Improvement Roof Ripoff on the addition they built is leaking and refusing to repair it by making up a phony charge to get out of warranty Chicago Illinois
The addition this company constructed is leaking and they are blaming it on another company that worked on my home 7 yrs. ago. This is typical of Highland, meaning that whenever anything went wrong during construction it was NEVER their fault. The contract that was signed and agreed to by both parties call for a 3 yr. warranty on all work that Highland performed. I have a receipt signed myself and Highland that all money due was paid. Not even one month after construction was completed the roof started to leak. Highland sent out one of their own servicemen to look at the problem and he concluded that the leak is caused by Highland's work. He tried to fix the problem by caulking a few areas. This didn't work!
I called Highland to tell them that my roof is still leaking. I spoke with one of their employees, because the man in charge of my project was never available and would never return phone calls except when he was due money. This employee assured me a roofer was coming out to test the roof and determine where the leak was coming from. When the man in charge of the project, who is also a co-owner, heard this he made up a phony charge to get out of the service agreement. They are refusing to send anyone out saying I still owe them money. But I have a signed receipt stating that I am paid in full. There is nothing further I can do to get them to come out but hire an attorney. This man is claiming the leak is due to another company that worked on my house 7 yrs. ago. I never had a leak until Highland built their addition.
