I was co-reced into buying a vacation at greatly reduced cost via Hilton Hotel in Croydon UK on 9th July 2016.  Umbeknown to me at the time and certainly without my knowledge I was put through to a sister company in the US - Hilton Grand Vacations - to book the holiday by the receptionist at Hilton Hotel in Croydon.  I did not know that i was being transfered to another company  I was offered a cheap holiday if whilst on the vacation  - I was prepared to listen to a time share presentation for 2 hours.  the cot was $649 for two for 4 nights at a resort in New York.  I was told that if I did not book it there and then I would not get that rate, but if my partner could not make it or did not want to go following the phone call I could easily cancel.  They would be sending me an email straight after the call to provide terms and conditions and cancellation facilities.

I bought the holiday.  I then contacted my partner who did not want to go.  The promised email did not arrive (and has still not arrived).  I called Hilton in Croydon to cancel.  They did not know anything about it and said that it had nothing to do wiht them and could not cancel it.  I managed to speak to the manager who also had no knowledge of it.  He said that he would look into it. I did not hear from him and tried calling all week and he was out.  By the end of the week I received an email from Hilton Grand Vacations confirming a holiday, but with no terms and conditions and no facility to cancel.  I replied to th eemail cancelling the holiday and received no response.  I called Hilton in Croydon again and another manager gave me the details of central reservations.  I wrote to them. They responded and said that Hilton Grand Vacation was a sister company and they could not deal with the matter but said that they would pass the complaint on to them and they would get in touchh in 3-5 days. They never got intouch.

I have since written again to  Hilton central reservations.  I am disgusted that they should be able to sell a holiday via a 'sister' company and then take no responsibility when it goes wrong.  I had no knowledge of Hilton Grand Vacations - Hilton hotels put me onto this company.  Hilton hotels misled me in that I was not told that this was an american compnay and a sister company and not hilton hotels themselves. Hilton Grand VAcations misled me in that they did not send me the terms and conditions and cancellation facilities as promised.  I have been robbed effectively of $649 plus taxes totl $744.

I am appauled at this behaviour of a supposedely reputable company - passing the buck and not dealing with this.  Do not buy a holiday via Hilton Hotels and certainly not with Hilton Grand Vacations.

I have since been in touch with Which uk who gave me advice and also reported the hotel to Trading Standards in Croydon.  I have also reported this to my credit card company
