So glad to find this! I can't even get into the elevator with him. He is evil, I have never met anyone like that before. I totally don't get it, he hates me and I thought it was just me but it seems to be all women as the men he is fine around. What is his deal?? I am relieved to know that there are others but I still want to know what his problem is and why he is still around. He needs a job where he has NO human interaction at all. What a miserable POS. I wish he would go away!!! I am ready to move because of him, and I pay a fortune where I live!!

I just saw this when I was trying to find the number to Crestmoor Management. I live in a place managed by him and I totally agree. What an unpleasent fellow he is. I was starting to think he just didn't like me. He is cold, rude, disrespectful...I hate having to deal with him and I don't know who would. I am seriously thinking about moving. Anyway, just my 2cents on the topic of discussion. My suggestion is if you have to deal with him, avoid him at all costs. And if you don't have to deal with him...well then you are lucky.

I finally got a payoff but only after I filed a complaint with the Supreme Court Attorney Regulations Office. They reviewed my paperwork and found that there was sufficient information to warrant an investigation. (YES! This proves my case!) The attorney Jonah Hunt said the flat rate for forclosure was not in this amount. I e-mailed his paralegal on the sly and acted like I was just trying to make sure the fee was included in the pay off and there wasn't another fee coming ot the HOA hadn't already charged me for it. She confrimed that it was in the amount quote for legal fees. The attorney at the regulation office asked him about it and he lied and said wasn't in there. He also lied (and got caught) saying that he had given my attorney a breakdown of fees. He was told to send over a breakdown. We got it and laughed for about 10 minutes. He have us a quote for legal fees 3 months ago and the billing for that amount started AFTER that quote. HE IS THE WORLDS FIRST PSYCHIC ATTORNEY! I swear I was billed for a date that hadn't even happened yet!!! Needless to say that my philsopshy was proven true. You cannot keep up that level of deceipt for very long. Eventually they will screw up, and THEY DID! My advice. Never back off of anyone who is trying to lie or cheat you. Keep all records because they will eventually slip up. My lawyer is requesting a refund for these legal fees, and feels we wont even have to go to court. No lawyer will want to show that bill to a judge. Or who knows. I wouldn't be suprised if he does!!!! To Hindman Sanchez: I told you guys from say one when I saw that you were not truthful or holding up your end of the bargain, that I will not back down. I will become the biggest pain in the a*s. I don't car if it is $5 or $5000. It is the principal of the issue. I am sure you wish you would have settled with me the first few times I offered huh?

I find it a relief that my wife found this complaint about Michael Whitcomb. For YEARS we have been waiting to see if or when he would be exposed for the a**hole that he is. And, I feel bad that in that time, he has still managed to leave a trail of pain and misery. We didn't know any way, (until now) to warn people about him and his management company. I used to work for him about 10 years ago as his onsight management/maintenance person for a town home complex his company managed in the 1000 block of Monaco. I lived in the managers apartment with my wife for about a year. During that time, I can remember him doing some pretty screwed up stuff. Without going into boring details I can sum it up. Homeowners would have a complaint against the HOA insurance, and he would find creative ways to make the homeowners look responsible. First he would just tell them that the HOA was not responsible. Some people just believed him (BIG MISTAKE) and the ones who didn't, he would go one step further and find creative ways to make it look like it was caused from the homeowner. Anyone who wants to see for themselves, just talk to the man for 2 minutes. He is condescending, rude, mean and unpleasant. You can see it in his eyes, what he is capable of. My wife, at first, thought he just was shy or had poor social skills and used to feel sorry for him. That was until he tried to get me to participate in some of the unethical/illegal things he would do which is why I got fired, because I refused. (I still wonder why he did some of the things he did, I could see no way that it benefited him unless he somehow claimed things and pocketed the claims after getting the homeowner to believe they had no claim) Or maybe he somehow made money by keeping costs to the association low. I am really not sure. I never did see the motivation, unless he is just plain mean which is what my wife thinks. Several people used to complain and try to fight him. He would find ways to charge them fines or fees by screwing with their association payments. People always backed down. I heard this a lot. We used to wonder how he kept his job and found out that his wifes family owned the company. We own our own townhome now in Aurora and made sure to get on the board so we can make sure he is never hired as management. We love our management company and still hear horror stories from other properties that he is managing. I still don't understand how he is in business. The properties must be getting rejeted from all other companies and he is their last hope. I would rather burn down my house then let him manage it! My advice is don't hire him! If you buy a place and he is the manager, only deal with him in the form of certified letters and keep record, take pictures, and record your conversations. (it is perfectly legal as long as one person knows the conversation is being recorded) Get on the board and try and get rid of him. If you have an insurance issue, don't let him or his people near the problem until you call your insurance. Put a claim in on your insurance, and let them determine who is responsible. They should even submit the claim for you with the proof that it is an HOA responsibility if that is the case. Just claim it even if you know it isn't your insurance's responsiblity. Let them assess that for you and he will have no choice once it has been claimed. Make sure you keep records after that. Makai, sounds like you didn't and you got nailed. I am sure he ended up with that money! Oh well, now you know! Let's hope others see this and take caution!!
