Re: Hobbytron Fraudulent Business Practises
On December 11th, 2014, I went online to hobbytron.com to purchase Christmas gifts.
I noted that to obtain free shipping it was necessary to make a purchase which exceeded $149.
My total order for RC Helicopters etc was $166 befor an unexplained surcharge, or tax. The
order includec $27.28 for shipping.
I tried numerous times and ways to remove the shipping charge, but the invoice continued to include it. In the shipping instructions I typed that I had this problem and if they were unable to comply with the FREE SHIPPING and remove the $27.28 I wanted to CANCEL THE ORDER.
This was done before the final step for ordering.
Immedicately after orderding I sent an email explaining the problem and once again stated they should CANCEL the order. Although this transaction was made after 5 pm Pacific time, in the moring when they opened for business at 8 am I immediately sent another email. I also tried using their chat service but it was unavailable. There are two phone numbers but calling both did not work. One had a message that no one was available to answer and this was after counting down nine minutes of wait time. The second phone number had a message that the mail box was full.
I then sent another email to their customer service reiterating this problem and stating that because I could not communicate with their business I wanted the order CANCELLED.
I then cancelled the credit card transaction which had not yet posted.
The following day I received an email stating that once an order is placed it cannot be cancelled per policy.
But nowhere on the site is this policy mentioned. On the contrary they offer a 90 money back guarantee.
