Christopher, I will give you credit for your honesty; at least you admitted you missed the deadline. I can remember missing a few deadlines myself in college--it's steep price to pay isn't it? I once missed a pass/fail deadline by one day and had to take an extremely boring course in grad school--not only was the class a snooze and worthless, but it sucked up funds I didnt have to spare. But, Christopher, I didn't get an attorney and try to sue the school. I screwed up and paid the price. Believe me, I never missed another deadline and I doubt you will either. It isn't the school's fault you and I screwed up it's our own. As for the lower class men vs. upper class men issue. You had first shot at the dorms but you screwed up. Freshmen are young and required to live in the dormsupper class men aren't. I suggest you get a part time job and meet the required deadline for the dorms on the next cycle. Start acting like an upper class student and pay attention next time. Good Luck, TFC

Oh, please! YOU waited until the day after the deadline, thinking as a senior you are king of the campus and can saunter in any 'ole time you please. Well, surprise! The Resident Life office had other people to consider. It is VERY common for freshman to get the dorms first. Think about it--they are 17 and 18 year olds, away from home the first time. Parents want to see their teenagers in the dorms, and most of them don't have cars and aren't used to college life, so living in close proximity is what they want. You have no one to blame but yourself. You compounded your error by sitting on your rear-end all summer and not looking for a place to live. Your commute isn't their problem. It's your problem, and if you didn't care enough to deal with it, don't expect anyone else to bend over backwards to accomodate you.
