Re; "local calls" room telephone states 85 cents. In-room book also states "local calls" 85 cents and even after we verified twice by calling front desk twice, it was 85 cents for local calls. We made 7 'local calls' and the room charge came to almost $75 (+taxes). No one could assist nor change the charges that had any authorization as that person was not available nor didd anyone calls us back in regards to a guest concern. There was no a manager on duty at 10:15pm, 7a.m. nor when I got home and sent my first e-mail. This particular Holiday Inn is not a Holiday Inn, it is owned separately and then managed for the owners separately. It is in name only a Holiday Inn and has been for decades. Maybe an old franschisee bought it outright or just stole the name though they have all the insignias and Holiday Inn bedding (bueno).
Casino sucks? 8200 square feet, 300 slots, no poker slots like in Vegas. The rip-off comes even on the 1 cents and 5 cents machines wherein you bet, up to 1.25, but they pay in pennies...therefore the house always wins. If you do win say $100-$200 you better walk. I won many games but like I said, had to bet the max spins and won pennies versus my 75 cents to $1.25 spins, only to win pennies (500 pennies sounds like a lot with all the bells & whistels but its still only $5).
Re; TV -forget it. place never swithced over from analog to digital and cannot get even ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, TWC, CNN. I like to get the weather before I leave for the day and watch a little TV in the a.m. while I wait on the Mrs and before I go to bed, though there were 3-4 local stations (wapa) in spanish. TV control didn't match TV anyway. Never have I had a room with crap chanel selection or no decent stations. Could get 4-5 espn stations however and though no HBO could get HBO 2.

I can deal with all but the TV and phone charges scam. We will go to Ponce Hilton next time inspite of the 25% taxes at least we know the devel we see and have stayed there twice just not again Holiday Inn Tropicale in Ponce off Hwy 2.
