My Family lives in the Bay Area of California just outside Union City Ca.  Myself and my twin girls (4 years old) went to Hayward Honda because they are the Honda Dealer in Hayward Ca which is close to union city.  I had gotten a price quote from Honda of Hayward over the internet and the price seemed really good.  They beat the next closest Honda dealer by about $45.  Thats not much but what the heck, right....

So my two daughters and I went to Hayward Honda to look for a Honda Accord but wanted to see the Honda Civic, Honda CRV, Honda Pilot, Honda fit and the Honda Odyssey at Hayward Honda.  I met the Honda sales manager and right off the bat he was not nice was impatient and obviously could careless about his honda customers.  I asked if he could show us the models I mentioned and he said to me "I will not show you any cars while you have your kids with you..." I asked why? The sales manager said "we do not have time to play around with customers, either you take the deal on the honda accord or not, but showing other cars is a waste of time" I told him that was really rude and I only wanted to see if I could fit in the other models.  Then the sales manager actually said "Either you buy the honda accord since we beat the next closest honda dealer by $45 or you get  out of my honda store"  I could not believe he said that infront of my two little daughters.  It was like the twilight zone.

At that point I asked to see the General Manager.  A young chinese kid came out to talk to me, I do not remember his name.  He said he just started working at Hayward Honda a month ago and that Hayward Honda has changed general managers 5 times in the last 12 months!  He told me that he was sorry and that he was trying to fix the store because of all the bad customer reviews and bad treatment to honda customers that has been happening at hayward honda for years....  I thought, cool, he may help me.....wrong.

I asked if I could just check out the other Honda car models so I could make sure I was getting the right Honda vehicle.  He said "NO".  The general manager then restated what the sales manager said" we have beaten the other honda dealer by $45 and you can either buy the Honda accord or leave, showing you cars is a waste of everyones time"  Well at this point I figured out that Hayward Honda was probably going to have another new general manager very soon.  So I left. It totally ruined my whole day and my little girls could tell that I was sad, mad and felt like a truck had just run over me.

I left and  went to the other next closest honda dealer.  I will leave out the name to be fair, but this store had the highest rating on google reviews in the bay area, you can google it yourself. 

When I got to the other honda dealership, I was greeted with a smile.  They got my kids balloons.  And they showed me any car I wanted for over an hour.  No issues, no complaining or whinning like hayward honda employees.  In the end I bought the Honda Accord and paid $45 dollars more.  I would have paid $500 more because I was so happy to meet normal proffessional people who acutally liked helping me and my daughters.

When I told them about my experience at hayward honda, they told me this happens all the time.  Customers come in dailey with horror stories about honda of hayward lieing, cheating, ripping off, bait and switch, and even hayward honda employees screaming at customers.  I really hope all those customers being ripped off and lied to by hayward honda choose the next closest honda dealer I found.  I really want to mention the stores name that helped me, but I am not here to promot other stores, just letting people know that you do not need to go to hayward honda and get treated so horribly, there is another honda dealer close by that has earned my business. Just google it.  I have no problem paying alittle more for proffesional customer service.  Thats something Hayward Honda will probably never understand.  Customer Service is more important that $45.
