I took my honda to HondaMotive on Friday, and paid $250 dollars for a rebuilt carburetor. The process took one day. The Manager of the business told me that evening when i picked up the car that the rebuilt carburetor he order did not work properly when installed on my car. So, the old carburetor was to be rebuilt and installed.

Funny thing is the old carburetor was never removed from the engine, one can tell by inspecting the studs & nuts holding the carburetor in place. The studs were dull and dirty unlike it would be if the nuts were removed causing the studs to become somewhat shiny and clean. Another highly noticeable thing is that I had previously applied a gasket sealant compound on the carburetor sealing a hole that i had drilled out. An auto manual i bought said that there is an air/fuel mixture screw at the base of the throttle plate, but that is behind a brass plug. Well, I drilled out the wrong plug, hence causing the need for me to get the carburetor replaced or rebuilt. But the main problem with the carburetor is that it is running rich and the choke sometimes sticks and causes the engine to idle at 2000 thousand rpms or more (like last night at 4000 thousand rpms but I think its got something to do with the throttle not wanting to close).

The Manager clearly told me that the unit was rebuilt and working properly and the hole was plugged. So the Manager/Owner lied about the carburetor being removed/rebuilt and working properly. My opinion is that the adjustment screws were adjusts out to make the engine appear to in tune.
