Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Carolyn langley from hooves n hounds transport was late took my money by credit card and said she would be picking up my horse on a certain date she Never did the person whom I purchased from contacted me so I began calling phoning texting & emails not one reply for 3 weeks then she call and gave me another date .and again same crap all over again. Then one day where I purchased my horse they call and say she arrived and loaded with out notice. It was only from central alberta to Aldergrove bc . I took off the next day and the next .No horse 5 days later carolyn hooves n hounds shows up at 11:45 pm my horse was standing in a foot or more of manure his legs were filthy he was so dehydrated & hungry when I lead him to stall he almost trampled me to get a drink then some hay. I didn't know what to even say I've never been so upset in my life. She told me excuses after excuse. I asked for some money back because she guaranteed me she was professional and qualified to haul my horse I did some research on her and company information she lied about insurance and legalities she's a fraud that I warn you will lie and tell you stories to get your business. I had received quotes from other sources I should have used one of them. she insisted on her price being the best price her quote was about half of every other carrier's quote I'd received . comes down to you get what you pay for .next time I need a horse hauled it definitely will not be hooves n hounds transport

To those concerned:

I would like to see the pictures or video, or even the vet report of the horse that was in the complaint.   All I see is a very angry person.

I have known and used Carolyn for many years for hauling when selling/purchasing them.  Her trailer and tow vehicle was always clean.  Fresh shavings on the floor, additional horses always tied with access to hay in their nets and she carried water on her rig as well.  In the warmer weather she had the window bars up on the her trailer for safety!  Over the years she has brought me my wolf hounds, a cat and transported a pup to its new family as well.

I find it very difficult and slanderous that someone can make a pulblic complaint like this.  Again where is the vet report, pictures or video for when the horse arrived?  All I see is a very angry person who has a vendetta towards Carolyn.  Many people have utilized her hauling services for many animals and no complaints for years.  Interesting isn't it?  Sometimes problems happen e.g.: vehicle break downs, long hauling hours and meeting requirements for sleep, meals, rest times for livestock and etc.

Easy to complain but you should have backup info to prove your story.

Horror story with Hooves N Hounds

I also had a horrible experience with Hooves N Hounds. I hired her to bring out a jumping horse for my 10 year old daughter. The horse was picked up in good condition from Courtney on Vancouver Island. She was getting hauled to Alberta, just south of Calgary. She had told me that it would be a 2 day trip as she would have an overnight stop. She had zero contact with me during the trip. I heard from her 3 days later and she told me she would be arriving that day. She was very late. When she arrived my mare was emancipated. She was so dehydrated that she dropped down as soon as she got out of the trailer. Carolyn said she had water in front of her and that she hauled fine. She never made sure any of the horses drank, just assumed they did. She told me that she picked up and dropped off 14 horses in the 3 days and never unloaded them. Carolyn left fast. Within minutes it was obvious my horse was suffering from a bad case of colic. She was convulsing on the ground with her eyes rolled back in her head. I got her to the local vet within 45 minutes. Nothing they did helped. I had to haul her an hour to the equine specialist. They gave me almost no chance that she would survive. She spent the next 5 days hooked to IV fluids and heavily medicated. She was so dehydrated and compacted that there was a total blockage. It was a miracle that she survived and a $2500 get bill. Carolyn told me nothing like that had ever happened before and took no responsibility over the whole event. Since then I have found out that this same thing has happened to many horse owners and some of the horses didn't survive. I have also found out the same information, she travels when the scales are closed, has no insurance and never unloads the horses. She told me herself that she sleeps in her truck. If I had known at of this I never would have hired her. I want to save others from going through the heartbreak we did.
