Hotbuyselectelectronics.com, 125 Taaffe Place, Brooklyn, NY 11205, Tel. 718-789-9119; Fax 718-789-9198 is the merchant who is offering electronic equipment on internet.
On June 27, 2005 I ordered and paid with credit card $206.18 for a new Nikon Coolpix 3200 digital photo camera and Rapid charger.
Hotbuyselectronics sent me Order confirmation showing model which I ordered.
On July 5 I received box from the merchant with USED Nikon Coolpix 3100. Beside the fact that they sent Model 3100 instead of Model 3200, camera arrived without box, without any documents (manual; warranteesnothing, just used, scratched camera).
I called merchant and informed that I received wrong merchandise. Person who answered named himself Harry, said that this is what I ordered and he has no Model 3200 in stock.
Per suggestion of VISA fraud department I return merchandise back to the merchantbut they did not accept it and return box back to me.
When I called with question why they sent it back, the same Harry said that I must call first and if accepted they will charge 15% for restocking and I must send camera in original box with all documents???? When I said that I received used one, without any original boxes or documents he simply hang up on me.
I made report to Fraud department of VISA and they started dispute
I don't know how long investigation will take place, probably not to long because merchant's fraud is very obvious and supported with documents.
I just worry that this company cheats many other people and someone must stop them.
