House Values ripoff, Misrepresentation and deceptive business practices to get me to subscribe to their "leads" caused me to lose thousands of dollars. Kirkland Washington
House Values promised to give me credit for "undeliverable" leads then they didn't keep their promise. This was a loss of over $3,000. Then they misrepresented how they were attracting "seller leads" through advertisements.
They claimed their ad stated something like this, "Thinking of selling your home. Contact House Values.com for a free home evaluation." However, what I and other realtors ended up seeing on TV was this, "Want to know the value of your home? Contact HouseValues.com for a home evaluation. It's free."
Everyone wants to know the value of their home, especially when it's free. Therefore, the "seller leads" were not prospective sellers at all just people wanting to know the value of their home. Once I sent them the evaluation, they unsubscribed. I contacted HouseValues and complained and they denied that their advertisement was as I and other realtors saw it.
I lost about $6,000 to $7,000 more and have had a difficult time canceling out the subscription. If you don't pay them for their poor leads, they send you to collections and you end up out of money and having your credit harmed.
This was a very disappointing and expensive mistake on my part believing their hype of how successful you will be if you just follow their program.
I'd love to join a class action suit against them.
