HOUSEHOLD BANK ripoff again and again and again SALINAS California
I obtianed the card in 8/03 for minor puchase. After the the first few payments I started to notice that there were other charges for sevices I did not order.
I contacted the company to have them removed and was given a number to call, (third party) and ask that company which was putting charges on my account to stop and refund the monies they owed me. I was assured they would fix the problem. In the meanwhile the credit card comp. charged me a 35.00 late fee.
I paid the fee and low and behold a month latter the charges were back on my account. I went through the process for 8 months till they had ran the card over the limit and compounded the late fee's. In june of 04 I requested they cancel the account with a 288.00 balance and send me a conformation so I could pay it off in full. I was told NO they would not close the account and the next month the bill was over 350.00. 11/29/04 I re- contacted them and they offerd me to settle for almost 700.00, oh yeh they informed me they were closing the account and turning it into a collection agency. How can people do this and get away with it.. can I sue them?? or is this just one of the things you get for being a american.
