HOUSEHOLD FINANCE COMPANY ripoff, issuing unwelcomed loan checks, no response to fraud claim, ruining credit report the business that doesn't give a dam VIRGINIA BEACH Virginia
Over one year prior to this supposed check made out to me from the household finance company, which is apparently some type of loan instrument was cashed by someone other than myself, I find this HFC charge off appearing on my credit report.
I had no idea what this was then upon some investigation I track down this Household Finance company. I explain that I never received this ckeck, never asked it to be issued, in fact I never even heard of their affliation until this mess.
I am told to fill out fraud papers, very rudely I may say, and retuyrn them and all should be taken care of.
Two months later, after returning the fraud claim and about a million lond distance calls and vague, rude or no response I am bumped form office branch to office branch all over the country trying to hunt down my file, a file I never opened, requested or liability I am being assessed for funds I never received.
Finally after annoying one employee enough, I must have been told the situation had been taken care of and that I was no longer responsible I get a call from a collection agency saying this had been charged off.
Obviously furious for the defamation to my credit and the cost of making these LD calls and lost time, I call every number I can possible find in the trail of numbers I have been given each time I had previously called only to be pushed aside and insulted.
There is obviously some devious and unethical business practices occuring here and apparently no one is safe. Someone really needs to look into these guys b/c basically what is going to happen here is most likely I will have to hire any attorney to scare these clowns into some honest and just treatment which is a cost I should not have to incur as this was an unwelcomed loan which has now been dumped on me.
