Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In 2006, my husband and I got a loan with HF to fix up an old house to resell it which we did. And with part of that sale, we decided to pay the loan with HF off. My husband called HF and spoke to a HF representative and a verbal agreement was made for a specific amount to pay the loan off. In 2007, we kept noticing monthly bills from HF and so my husband contacted them stating he spoke to someone and an agreement was made that if he paid them this amount, the loan would be paid off. But they argued with him stating there was no agreement that was made to pay off the loan and as far as they were concerned, we are late on our payments. The argument continued with HF for the next 3 to 4 months and each time, wed get a different person who connected us to another different person, who would give us the same run around, stating the same thing. And because my husband did not get the name of the person he talked to when the verbal agreement was made to pay off the loan and nothing was on paper or documented, we were basically being screwed by HF. Frustrated and angry with the constant threats and harassment from HF, my husband finally told them to go ahead and take us to court. But that did not seize the harassing phone calls made to us from HF. In 2008, we eventually went to court and lost to the law suit HF had filed against us. Before any arrangements for payments were made through the courthouse, HF had served writs of garnishments on our wages and bank accounts. This was hard, stressful & painful as it left us with basically nothing but the pennies in our pockets. We had no money to pay our other bills or buy us food and gas to go to and fro from home and work nor did we have any money for emergencies. Arrangements were then eventually made through the courthouse to have monthly payments taken out of my separate bank account to HF. And although, this payment arrangement was made in October 2008, from that time up until now, July 2010, HF will continuously and randomly serve writs of non periodic garnishments of our bank accounts. Because of this our other financial obligations got screwed up and which eventually, got us into another separate law suit with our car & home.

So, to all of you out there struggling like myself and the rest of us. Be careful in your dealings with not only HF (Wells Fargo Auto Finance is the other, which is truly the devils bank) but other loan companies. The fat man of these businesses is living comfortably and rich off our sufferings.

This was your mistake:

"...spoke to a HF representative and a verbal agreement was made..."

As far as any agreement being made, if you can't prove it, it didn't happen. Trust no one. Get everything in writing! I know you realize this now, but for those reading who may run into a similar circumstance in the future, learn from this!

Finance companies aren't the business to care about you and your tales of woe. They're in the business to care about the almighty dollar.

Best wishes and good luck.
