Howard Johnson Aurora Ontario Hotel is an outdated with poor service and safety and security issues Ripoff Aurora Ontario
The place is an antiquated hotel with poor customer service and numerous safety and security issues.
My family and I reserved 4 rooms in July of 2007. We had nothing but problems with our door locks which they couldn't fix. Their solution was to have us leave our room door ajar so that anyone could walk in. Not bad considering we would find the rear doors to the hotel blocked open at 1 a.m.
The rooms smelled, and were not cleaned very well. We had to clean someone elses hair out of the tub just to take a shower.
On the last night we lost power for 8 hours. No lights, no air conditioning, nothing. The emegency lights finnally went out and we had to use flashlights to get around. They never did anything to notify people who were sleeping. Had there been a fire, people would have had to try to find their way out in the dark, not too safe if you ask me. We found one elderly couple trying to make their way down the dark stairwell 7 hours after the power failure, no help from the staff at all during the power failure.
All of this and they had the nerve to charge us full price for that nights stay. Calls to the general manager were never returned.

Do your research, and find another place to stay. Because if you have problems here, your not going to get any help from HOJO's or Wyndham.
