I am a current employee at Blue Inc. and just wanted to talk about my experience thus far with the company because it has been different than a few posts I have read.
I started at Blue Inc. last May after graduating college from Loyola University Chicago. I didn't know exactly what I wanted out of a company, so I was ultimately looking for experience. I didn't want a sales position, so initially I was hesitant with Blue because I knew sales and marketing was a part of the experience I would eventually gain. However, I have learned that sales is imperative in any market of business. Every person is either selling something or selling themselves in regards to their skills.
Since I started here at Blue, I have gained so much experience in multiple different aspects of business. I have learned how to do sales, which I had no experience in when I started. Ultimately, the sales aspect of the company comes down to simple work ethic, so for people who aren't willing to work hard, the company isn't going to be a good fit because genuine hard work is necessary to be successful.
Along the way, training and developing other people has been one of my favorite aspects of the business I have learned. At the foundation of training and developing others is building relationships, which is beneficial in any job sector anyone could imagine. Honestly, this has been my weakness since I started, but I am constantly, on a day to day basis, learning how to better my interactions with people.
Helping people is one of my biggest passions in life. Once I have my own office, I am going to actually open a school in Somalia, Africa in order to teach the children the basics to running their own business. This has been an important goal of mine for quite some time, and, through my experiences and growth with Blue, this goal is becoming a closer reality every day.
I have become a much more goal oriented person while working at Blue. This is my favorite aspect of growth that I have personally experienced. Before working at Blue, I expected to get a job in a corporate position working for someone for the rest of my life and working multiple different jobs because of the poor economy. The expectation was set. However, with Blue, I have realized that this is going to be my path for life. There is no other option. It's simple. Hard work and a great attitude is all I need to be successful and I love that. That's all I need for the freedom of a lifetime. I'll take that any day.
