I received in the mail a letter, survey questionnaire and check in the amount of $4,914.25 drawn on JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA in Columbus, Ohio. The letter referenced a Customer Service Evaluator Representative position and included a Rep ID # LK10820.

They told me I had been randomly selected from a Job Search Agency (yes, I am listed with several online job search agencies) and that I was chosen to be their rep. in my area. I was given the phone number of (646) 912-7070 to call and receive a validation code for their check which I was then to deposit and use all but $200 dollars of it to send a money gram to a fictitious person in Laval, QC, Canada. It further stated that I needed to perform this service within 48 hours of receiving the check as part of my "training" and the $200 was mine to keep as a paid training payment.

I contacted JPMorgan Chase and asked them to verify the check information. Yes, there is a Hubert Company and it is legit. However, the check is not. A scammer has been targeting them and their addressees with this check and letter.

The letter shows a list of trademarks along the bottom including Pizza Hut, MoneyGram International, GAP, McDonalds, Budget Rent-A-Car, Blockbuster, Sears, Wendy's, Wal-Mart and Starbucks Coffee. The check has a green and white marbled background on the front. There is no watermark or perforation marks. The reverse side of the check has a box which begins with the words: Warning: Absence of the following Security Features may indicate alteration, followed by a list of things to look for. It is very realistic looking.

The envelope it came in showed the return address as GTM, Inc., P.O. Box 400, Etobicoke, ON, M9C 4V5 in Canada with pre-printed Canadian postage.

If you get one of these, please report it as postal fraud.
